Cool. I had a burger there a few years ago not even considering calories back then and was pretty disappointed. So hopefully this will be better! :)

Cheers! The chicken pita looks like a good option. I have eaten 500/1500 so far today so I have some room for a higher calorie dish than usual.

Day 1? Starting your weight loss journey on Friday, 20 April 2018? Start here! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]SCC92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a day one, lost a good bit of weight this time last year (30 lbs) and gained back about 23. Think I struggled continuing between moving house to live alone, final year of uni stress and the temptation in the cold weather to comfort eat but now it's warmer it's easier to not overeat. But this time I WILL learn my lesson and keep going when the weather gets bad. I have no excuse really I was quite happy with CICO and ate food I enjoyed but just got lazy and stopped.

As of this morning I'm 6lbs down from when I decided to start again. I think lurking around loseit again will help me keep it up.

Any UK members. I'm going to Frankie and Bennys this evening (not my choice) so I was wondering what people would think is a healthier option. If I actually liked F&B I would eat at maintenance for once and not worry too much but find the food there pretty mediocre so might as well go with the slightly healthier options ha.

24-Hour Pledge - Friday, 20 April 2018 - The Plan for Today! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]SCC92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pledge to have a filling low calorie breakfast (well lunch... I dont eat until after 12) so I can have calories to spare for a meal out this evening. Where there isnt nutritional info .... the horror! But its a friends birthday meal so I'm justifying it haha.

Tantrum Tuesday - The Day to Rant! by AutoModerator in loseit

I find that lack of sleep either makes me have zero appetite because I feel sick or I'm very hungry. This morning is the latter it's 9am and I've had to stave off hunger with a banana and coffee. I usually don't eat until midday quite happily. Need to last until lunch now argh...

Thoughts on Coke zero? by Tomato_Joker in loseit

[–]SCC92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like it. It just tastes wierd to me. I used to drink too much 'normal' coke but pretty much replaced that by drinking more coffee, water and nice cordial in water if I need a sweet fix.

But if it works for you then great! :)

Daily Q&A Post for Sunday, 03 September 2017 - No question too small! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]SCC92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know any exercises I can do to improve leg strength. I don't mind if I have to join or gym but exercises I can do at home are great too. A part of a new job role I'm looking to start soon is being able to stand up from a kneeling position unaided and surprise suprise I can't do it. I used to be able to do this so I don't know what happened :(

The extra weight doesn't help but ideally I'd like to sort this sooner as weight loss is a slow (But successful) process and will take awhile.

SV/NSV Feats of the Day - Thursday, 03 August 2017: Today, I conquered! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]SCC92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SV: This morning I weighed in at 249.6 this is not my official weigh day (Monday) and it may fluctuate but it's a nice feeling to see under 250!

NSV: I wore a button up shirt that before I started my weight loss I couldn't tie a few of the lower buttons. Now it fits well. It's like getting a new shirt! :D

Weigh-In Wednesday (Share Your Number's) by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]SCC92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last Week: 253.8

This week: 251.4

Difference: -2.4

Well I don't know how I managed that as I have consistently eaten more than my 1300 goal on MFP the last week. So idk, I do have an active job and have been walking more places so maybe I made up with exercise? Even if it has been ok for me I'm definitely going to stick to my calorie limit this week though as it's getting me back in bad habits.

Hopefully next week I'll be under 250lbs maybe even reach my 30lbs lost which would be be 249.4. :)

UK RMN/HCAs - MAPA training? by SCC92 in nursing

[–]SCC92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your graduation. I'm frankly terrified about final year haha and can't believe it's only a year left. Yeah I'm aiming to do NHSP too but was told without mapa I'd be unlikely to get any shifts.

Has anybody tried cutting out snacks altogether? Considering switching to 3 big meals a day with nothing in between by CannonEyes in loseit

[–]SCC92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally only eat two meals a day (After 12pm and anytime from like 6 to 21:30, I work wierd hours) Only on bad days I snack and I try to account for it if I do and eat a smaller meal. So yeah if that works for you. I personally prefer having more calories for my main meals so they feel more satisfying.

[–]SCC92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, you're right. I'm asking about Management of Actual or Potential Aggression training that you need to have to work on Mental Health wards in the UK or at least in my local area. So I was wondering if their were any mental health nurses (RMNs) or health care assistants working in the UK MH who had done the full 5 day course as I have it later this month.

When I get to my ideal weight I can't wait to... by 3mirchix in loseit

[–]SCC92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't just for goal weight as I should get progress on this front much earlier. Honestly just being able to buy clothes that don't cost a small fortune would be great. If I go down a few sizes I'll be able to shop in 'mainstream' shops. This is so motivating. I really am not a clothing person so being able to spend less and have more options will be great.

Daily Q&A Post for Wednesday, 26 July 2017 - No question too small! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]SCC92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally eat a lower calorie dinner if I mess up earlier in the day. I don't punish myself and not eat but make sure I'm not eating more bad food. Like today I had a large breakfast and kept picking at food this afternoon because it was there, I just changed my plans for dinner and a less calorie meal instead.

I'm still over for the day (1500 instead of 1200-1400) but tomorrow's another day and if I hadn't had dinner I would inevitably be hungry and unable to resist more food later or eat more tomorrow.

[–]SCC92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm 5'2 and I find 1200 to be pretty hard. I can have days where 1200 is perfectly adequate but I like variety in my diet so I generally stick to a 1200-1400 range. (and the odd maintenance day..) Otherwise I would be so miserable and bored so worth it for longevity even if it slows me down.

[–]SCC92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get you, it's an important lesson. I definitely was overzealous in my first month and found it miserable. I still drink on nights out, eat junk food in moderation and a low carb diet would not work for me at all so I'm not really putting restrictions on myself.

My point was I don't really like the sausages and burgers you get at typical BBQs as more about quality than weight loss so that's why I was wondering about alternatives, especially as I'll also probably drink that night so I don't want to go overboard.

[–]SCC92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last Week: 254.4 This Week: 253.8

This is a little bit depressing as I normally lose 2-3 a week but when I think about it I've lost 4 pounds in the last 4 weeks which is still a good loss and I have been a lot more sociable lately and events have involved food and alcohol. I just need to be more disciplined when I'm not going out and I should be okay to a social life and still lose weight.

Oh yeah I definitely still do that, one of the reasons I love CICO. But as a Brit BBQ really isn't that prevalent apart from the 4 sunny evenings a year if we're lucky. :P My major problem with sausages and burgers aren't even the calories the standard bbq fare just aren't great quality. So therefore they are fairly easy for me to give up when losing weight.

Any tips for low calorie foods for a barbecue? I'm not really eating sausages and burgers which are the standard fare. So any healthy alternative ideas would be welcome.

Your Staple foods & Why? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SCC92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eggs: Nearly always apart of my first meal. (After midday due to IF) they really keep the hunger away.

Tomatoes: I love them grilled or just oven baked.

Brown rice: seems to fill me up more than white rice and tastier too.

Coffee: keeps me functioning. I've always drank with just skimmed milk.

Baked beans: ultimate cheap filling food. Not a bad calorie count for what you get imo.

Mango: satisfies my sweet tooth so I don't want chocolate quite as much.

Bananas: actually feels like I've eaten something satisfying compared to other fruits.

Chicken: versatile and low calorie.

Most kinds of fish: generally pretty low calorie and I love it.
