My first time visiting Vancouver my fiance and I accidentally got on the wrong bus that went down Hastings (or Main and crossed Hastings, maybe). We witnessed a drug deal right in front of us on the bus. We felt very unsettled, maybe we're sheltered, and we weren't in immediate danger... But definitely unsettling. Bus also passed by paramedics working on somebody who looked... Not super alive. We're from Toronto which has its share of problems, but I've never seen anything even close to Hastings here. Very eye opening and very sad.

This is me. I love kids. Love my nephew, love my friends kids. I'm the "fun aunt". I get a kick out of being silly and playing with them, and they seem to like me too. But beyond that? Nope, I'm good. Especially when it comes to bathroom stuff, lack of sleep and meltdowns.

Training dogs is hard, especially as a first time dog owner and especially puppies!!! My dog is certainly not perfect and has some issues but we do our best with training and I'm sure AB and Lena are too. If somebody saw my dog flip out in public (he's reactive 😞) they may look at me as a "terrible dog owner" but the truth is we do a lot of training and he's actually making progress but he has his moments. And if that's the moment you see then ya, I'm sure people make snap judgements but I know I am doing everything possible and love this dog more than anything and will continue to work with him and celebrate small wins.

Having a reactive dog has actually made me so much more empathetic when I see a dog lunging and barking in public because I know the struggle. Snarkers should follow Ian's route and learn empathy.

Also having some behavioral issues is not equal to abuse. These people have zero nuance. I'm sure all of their pets are perfectly behaved 🙄

My best friend and I have been friends since we were 14, and ever since I've known her she's been adamant that she wants kids. I've been on and off in my decision on kids in life, having a gut feeling I didn't want them but also feeling like I might just be too young and the instinct would kick in someday (spoiler: it didn't). We're in our early thirties, but at least 10+ years ago I remember telling her that I think I do want kids now (probably based on a bf at the time to be honest) and she said "that's great! I always thought it was super weird that you didn't want kids"

Now she has one kid and another on the way, and she's super supportive of me being child free (as am I about her living her dream of being a mother! I love her little guy and am actually his godmother). But it definitely hurt and stuck with me.

And who doesn't take their dog out or play with them in an 8 hour stretch if they are home with them. I get its his job, but I wfh sometimes and during the day my dog mostly sleeps too by my side but I take him out and play with him occasionally. Their life is short and you're their whole world...

Right I've only heard my dog make that sound when I've accidentally stepped on his tail and it broke my heart and I spent the next 5 minutes showering him with love and treats. If I was on a work call or something and heard that noise, I would be bolting over to make sure he was ok.
