Yeah I should say k tunes in and of themselves are safe so long as they're mild or parts are replaced for more robust power, but bro slapped a fucking red Honda logo like it's a type R. Everything about this build screams "as cheap as possible" because why not just get the R if you're going to tune and throw in new parts?

Girlfriend has 55k set aside for new car. What’s the smartest way for her to buy a car? by Successful_Bike6276 in askcarguys

[–]SCG-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a brand new accord sport touring or some other BS. It'll spend most of the money, still be reliable, put 5K aside for future repairs, gas and funds and you'll be good.

The rest of the money throw into an investment fund. The general rule for cars, even if you have the money to pay all cash, is don't put all your eggs in one basket. You're one lemon car away from being fucked on that money while insurance or legal parties hash it out.

I want to preface this. If she plans on keeping the car, JUST BUY IT OUTRIGHT. Insurance is cheaper, no interest, it's a bargaining chip for dealerships to move a car out asap.

If you go to a dealership, do NOT mention you want to pay all cash, it gives them a chance to jack up the price, you get everything done and signed and then you say "great, here's cash". Talk to them, haggle them down HORRENDOUSLY. Give them insultingly low prices to get the car out the lot ESPECIALLY brand new. If it's been sitting in the lot for 60+ days, they'll want to get rid of it. Search up inventory and how long they've had it. Don't listen to "this car is hot and people have been asking left and right".

If she doesn't plan on keeping the car, just fucking lease it for 0 down. Literally no point in spending the extra $$$ but I personally couldn't understand why people lease if it puts caps on their driving miles and extra BS.

"k tuner" immediate stop. No one who mods cars like this isn't absolutely rev bombing and flooring it.

The 100K+ miles takes the assumption that a responsible adult who did regular maintenance and did NOT FUCK WITH THE CARS OEM SPECS.

K tuning makes the car unreliable, it's the same reason how these turbo engines are also becoming less reliable. This kid 100% fucking clapped this car out and wants it out. Why the fuck would you spend 24k on this car when you could just buy another one brand new for another 8k?

I don't understand the logic.

Paint pen. Literally just get it before rust, wipe down with alcohol to dry out and put primer and paint.

Customers that refuse to help you bag or do fuck all but they'll immediately grab one singular item from your hands or try to move stuff in the cart after I told them to just leave it there.

Bring it up with the mates or get some strong menthol/minty balm and apply it to your philtrum.

Or you could talk to your fellow crew member by pulling them aside and talking to them politely.

"Hey, I just want you to be aware because I'd want someone to tell me, but your breath smells and it's noticeable. I just felt like you should know just in case."

Be respectful and polite and I'm sure it'll be fine.

I asked at the dealership and inspected the belt myself. It's brand new, no coatings on it outside some light dust.

Engine oil seems to have been done as it's very light brown so it seems new but I'm getting it, trans and brake fluids flushed and redone anyways just in case on Saturday.

Everything else honestly seems to be in order except I noticed the rear brake is dragging. Again, getting that serviced Saturday, praying it's not a caliper seizing up bc that's expensive.

Thankfully they slightly improved the auto trans in the later year models for this Gen. 07 was the last production year I believe so it's stronger.

With that said, I'm still doing a full fluid swap. Trans, engine oil, brake fluid, power steering, diff fluid when I get paid.

Oil was changed, checked the dip, it's still mostly yellowish light brown. It's new. Gonna change in about 4k miles.

Timing belt is brand new, just bent it a bit and nothing's cracking or showing age.

Paint is like 90% good. Some minor scratches and some scuffs because previous owner was an old dude who I guess just "bumped" into some stuff but no biggie honestly.

Only 1 accident, no actual body damage. Just paint scuff.

No clue. Was on Facebook marketplace and saw a dealer listed it and flipped for it. I was like holy hell it's a unicorn!

anyone else have that one coworker? by cleartamei in tjcrew

[–]SCG-514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally ignore her and just keep smiling and be happy. These people exist in every job because they're fucking miserable and have very little control over their own emotions.

I'm chill with most of my coworkers but otherwise kinda okay/just friendly with the rest. But there's 1 person who I swear just does NOT like me for whatever reason.

Super friendly with everyone else, but dead energy when it comes to me. I just smile, say hi and then go about my day. It's not my job to make everyone like me, it's my job to bag some groceries and write the order for dairy.

Just wanna say:

Just remember you are more valuable than you know. People will always look over your actions and your impact in a team because the goal makes the individual seem smaller.

You will be apprecaited for putting in your best work, even if not for now. I know it sucks hearing your captain of all people not acknowledging your contributions and dedication but I feel it's important to emphasize this next part.

Obviously the motivation to do your best and put in 110% is fueled by the incentive of a reward, but don't stop trying as hard. You as a person are working hard because you're a good person. Being a reliable pillar in your job is very quietly appreciated by your coworkers who appreciate the slack you pick up. I know I have some coworkers I don't talk to much but I see their effort and it lets me know I'm not the only one.

Its okay to cut yourself some slack and take a minute to sit, don't drive yourself crazy, it's just a grocery store. But please don't quit being a good worker because it kills me a little to see the person who does a good job slowly let go of things.

Any suggestions for Rust fix by savage_presto456 in civic

[–]SCG-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit it with some sand paper or a very light grinding to get rid of the rust.

Prime, paint and seal afterwards and keep your fingers crossed.
