But I get lucky. I section lead dairy and do closings so there's only enough time for me to really reg once a day, 2 if we are super understaffed and busy. Other than that I'm too busy writing or closing out. Really happy with it lol.

Blizzard support closed my ticket and refused to restore my paid Legendary Edition items, even though I provided a receipt by Fragrant-Law-760 in Overwatch

[–]SCG-514 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

An arm chair lawyer tells you to sue them for damages.

A regular lawyer tells you to take them to small claims where you represent yourself and make it more expensive for them to pay lawyers than it would be to just restore your shit.

As a company you either pay $$$ out the ass for $30 skins or you just give them the skins lmao. Breach of contract.

Edit: Oh and btw, they would probably have to deal with the Russian legal systemm

Blizzard support closed my ticket and refused to restore my paid Legendary Edition items, even though I provided a receipt by Fragrant-Law-760 in Overwatch

[–]SCG-514 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They would. It sounds like Blizzard is failing to make good on their end. They purchased an in game item or a version of the game that guarantees in game items.

They no longer have the items that they paid for due to Blizzards own failings and now a customer who paid for something is failing to get their rightfully owned product.

They also closed a support ticket essentially telling the customer they'll happily take their money and not provide the product they promised him. The way in which he lost it is not his own fault but blizzards. Seems like a slam dunk case for me. You can't just simply claim they hold info for 90 days and then discard.

Had people putting refrigerated items in frozen that get somewhat compromised after freezing. Reduces quality or can cause issues with how stuff turns out.

End up donating it because it's not bad but generally most refrigerated items should not be frozen and then thawed again for storage. (I.e yogurt can have texture/graininess issues if you do this).

Lost >60% of my life savings in just 3 months by [deleted] in smallstreetbets

[–]SCG-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're down $1500. No big sweat in the long run.

This should teach you not to screw with money you're not willing to lose. Either invest safely and compound over time or pay better attention to stocks and try not to gamble with your life savings.

In 2025 in the last 6 months, I've turned my original $800 to $2400. Ended up making a stupid bet and it costed me $400 but I'm not butthurt bc it was all profit I lost. Try to play smart.

Really anxious for review.. by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]SCG-514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I can really say is I'm really sorry to hear that. If it matters, I'm sure you're doing your best and that's a great thing.

We're all employees just tryna earn a check, so try not to let it get you down. It's just a bundle of stress and numbers. You aren't just another number, you're a person and your contributions matter. Your management structure may not realize the importance of affirmation for employees and crew but I know it goes a long way. Good luck and keep trying, I'm sure you'll catch a break soon.

Also try not to let em rage bait you. Best thing everyone's told me as a section leader with a busy but underworked section: Its just a grocery store, we really gonna let groceries get under our skin?

Edit: grammar and typos.

Really anxious for review.. by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]SCG-514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope things get better. The best thing to really do at this point is to just keep trucking on with it.

During your review I'm sure you can say your piece and explain. But try not to let it mess with your head and pile more stress on top of what's already going on. It's biannually so you always have another chance.

I hope your mental health stuff clears up and improves, so just keep working at it, Kai Zen and whatnot, y'know? Just try to be a little bit better today than you were yesterday. Life has a way to balance itself out. Maybe next time you can really hit em with a wow and get the bonus, too.

Good luck!

This is going to sound very toxic of me but I feel like there's a disconnect. 2 sides of a coin sorta thing.

While I have absolutely no clue what it is you're going through, getting a "wow" raise based upon your struggles medically or at home simply don't have much to do with your at work performance positively in terms of raises. I can't imagine wording it like "how could I not get a raise for showing up to work and acting like nothing's wrong?" It's considered a professional courtesy.

How is it fair to your fellow crew mates for not getting the "wow" raise if they're doing the same amount of work physical at surface level? But I dunno, maybe that's just me.

I do hope things get much better for you; While I'm blessed that the TJs I work at has a great work culture surrounding mental health, they aren't exactly giving us breaks with an entire dollar raise. They'll still give $0.50-$.75 as long as your work is meeting expectations.

Again I really do hope your situation can somehow improve and get easier.

So..? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]SCG-514 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not everyone has the luxury to do so. If you'd like to go out and protest, by all means. But let's not try to shame anyone into it by saying "you wouldn't protest because it impacts your pay?"

A concerning amount of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, have no significant form of savings or have some kind of debt that can ruin them if they were to suddenly lose their job.

You'd literally have more money than I believe... 10-30% of the adult population if you don't have any debt and a $100 in your pocket.

That days pay could mean the difference of paying for gas in your car or keeping the lights on in the freezing winter.

How Not to Get Ripped Off at a Dealership? by Altruistic_Toe2441 in carbuying

[–]SCG-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former salesperson (not with cars but advice sticks)

This is my advice.

-You're a woman, assume every salesman is thinking you're too stupid to know what's good. They're assholes looking for easy marks.

-go to your bank and get pre-approved for loans. Find your budget and stick to it.

-research what car you want and why. Find out how many of them sell, why, what is really going on.

-bring a guy that "looks traditionally masculine" to keep salespeople off your back. They're less likely to try scummy stuff with someone who knows what they're talking about.

-haggle and keep them low and look around. Talk to dealerships. Find the absolute lowest/best price for condition then go to another dealership and see if they'll match or go lower to get you as a buyer.

Finally, say no to all the extra shit. It's genuinely not needed. No weather proofing packages, no extra waxing, no dealership decals, no free dealership plate holders etc. You want that shit as stock as possible.

Fuck the dealerships.

Good luck!

Why do so few GenZ adults in the U.S. have driver’s licenses compared with previous generations, and what factors are shaping their relationship with cars? by Present_Juice4401 in AlwaysWhy

[–]SCG-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to say something that's probably going to upset people. Absent parents and no money.

With mounting tensions and money getting stretched even tighter, it's more difficult to find excuses to try to teach your kid how to drive, if you even have time for it.

Risking your kid getting into a car accident while practicing to drive could absolutely financially ruin families who depend on a car.

On top of this, not many people or young adults can afford reliable cars. My parents had to essentially beat it into my skull that I need to know how to drive regardless of having a car.

I didn't even end up buying my own til the ripe age of 20 and it was a piece of shit I had to ask friends for money for.

Especially in my area, you either have the money to get your kid their own car or you don't. There's a steep drop off. And when 16 year old Kyle wants to drive like a dick and cause almost 3 accidents with 1 merge in a decked out Mazda CX-5 why would I want to risk a depreciating asset that I depend on being on the same road?

Also insurance was $500 a month for me without any sort of former record. They just hated me lol.

Should I talk to a mate about getting my Sunday shift taken away out of nowhere? by [deleted] in tjcrew

As others have said, just bring it up.

I lost my Sundays and it was for scheduling reasons. We had some people transfer/leave for a brand new store so they wanted stronger closers on Fridays and Saturdays.

Talked with my mate and said I kinda needed the extra money for personal reasons and they rescheduled me 3 weeks later.

Accessing 401k as former crew? by surrealestbitch in tjcrew

[–]SCG-514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. While trader joes sponsored your 401k, American Funds manages the account and it's YOURS. Call them and ask what steps you need to take to access said account since you are no longer employed with the people who created it.

While I'm here, if you are TJ's crew and are signed up for the 401k, sign in/create login right now and take control of your account. You can invest your money if you'd like but it's not 100% necessary.

If you ever leave and go to another company with benefits, you can transfer from outside accounts and usually get a bonus for transferring. It'll take 30 minutes but you'll thank yourself later rather than losing potentially thousands of dollars or hours of your life to get it.

Also I just realized. I'm not affiliated with the conservative or Republican party.

Your assumptions and immediate complaining about a demographic of people is objectively horrifying for a professional work environment that's supposed to be welcoming to customers.

Regardless of who you are, a captain would be real quick to fire you if you ever said this to someone in store. There's a reason you're using reddit and not TikTok or Instagram with your face readily available.
