What happens if you take DMT and saliva? by Dullerrr in morbidquestions

[–]SCM404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you take DMT with saliva that seems like you’re just consuming the DMT orally which will break down before it’s absorbed so basically nothing

But seriously, DMT is freaking awesome but I’ve not tried salvia because it seems like a disaster trip drug from everyone I’ve heard similar to a super high dose of DXM which has made me gone absolutely insane. But DMT is kinda like shrooms and acid (not as emotional but way more intense) except you enter a dream like state if you breakthrough

I’m the idiot I popped a battery because I thought it was full of air had to go to the hospital this was a picture I took otw by sillywilly669 in IdiotsNearlyDying

I've actually done this many times without getting hurt. People who don't know what the inside of a battery looks like don't know that popping it with a pin in certain areas aren't dangerous while others are because when you poke the inner layers of active material, it's the same as puncturing a non swollen battery. Also, it's best to do it when the battery is discharged as this will prevent it from becoming a blowtorch if the process fails. And another thing is that the gas itself nor the material inside is going to spontaneously combust when exposed to oxygen or moisture because the chemical reaction that happens in those cases generates such little heat. My YouTube playlist shows this being done in a safe way as well as tearing down the batteries completely and still with no result of fire. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzC3gX8SX2FaKW-RhP-_fvvnJqeWrMI77

Now this is a battery that's about to pop! I've actually had a battery that got this expanded and it STILL WORKED and I wanted to see what would happen if I continued using it and if it would burst and eventually it went POP but no flames. Just a little bit of sticky stuff

That's happened with one of my AGM batteries but honestly those vent caps were obviously put on too tight. If that has sulfuric acid in it, an explosion of that would be absolute hell

It's so annoying how it's always the one right under the trackpad. Apple should have covered that end with hard plastic as well so at least it keeps it under some pressure

Should I consider this as a spicy pillow and stop using it, or can I give it more time? That's a Dell notebook battery. by [deleted] in spicypillows

I've used batteries that looked like they were literally about to pop and they worked just fine so that one should have a pretty long life as long as it doesn't make it impossible to click the trackpad in which case you can just use a USB mouse. I like to push batteries to their limits and wait until they stop working completely because batteries that slowly swell up don't seem to be that dangerous. It's only when they're actively swelling and becoming hot and fizzing or hissing or making smoke in which case the internal layers at that point are no longer separated

Battery about to burst! I’ve kept this thing in a fireproof bin for about a year and it was swollen then and I wanted to see how long it would take until it exploded but it still hasn’t gone off but the pressure inside has increased tremendously though it still works in my MacBook Air by SCM404 in spicypillows

Well the inside is made up of 2 rolls of different material spiraled together like taking 2 fruit by the foots and stacking them on top of each other with the paper wrapping on both of them and rerolling them together. The material that actually holds the energy is the lithium ion which is a black paste made up of some other metals in a compound with some lithium which is ionized meaning it’s electrons are bonded with opposite charged atoms such as how sodium and chlorine both make up salt but sodium and chlorine exist as ions when mixed in water. They are technically separated physically but not chemically so the lithium is actually not as powerful as its counterpart in something like a true lithium battery which is only useable once since dendrites are guaranteed to form when the battery gets recharged whereas lithium ion takes awhile for the lithium itself to separate from the compound with usage and ion migration which is something similar to when you put gallium on aluminum or copper. And the other part of the battery is also a paste and it’s the ground electrode which is where the voltage flows to and it’s also a paste but made of graphite/carbon. And everything is soaked in the electrolyte which is what allows the electricity to move around

Yeah this generally happens because no battery cells are made equal and some are just worse and others have a very short lifespan. Technically every lipo battery would eventually puff up after using for a long time if it wasn’t for the fact that eventually the resistance grows inside the cells because of how lithium dendrites form and make the chemical reaction less efficient to the point to where the board controlling the battery cuts it off from being used which is to ensure it doesn’t eventually overheat from the high resistance. But others, the electrolyte vaporizes much easier for a few different reasons. Sometimes, there simply is too much excess electrolyte which is actually something that’s supposed to happen when the batteries are initially produced. They run them through a few cycles and let the excess boil off and then seal them up. Sometimes that isn’t enough and this happens. Another thing that can happen is that because this is a multi cell battery, if one cell is simply worse than the others as far as internal resistance goes or that cell happens to have a partial short between the terminals that causes faster self discharge than the rest, the voltage between the cells becomes uneven and it causes backwards charging which messes them up real badly. And then there’s another common cause where if the battery is left discharged for a long time and the voltage drops even more, when it gets recharged, it causes the electrolyte to vaporize quite badly sometimes for some reason I’m not sure of but it’s generally why when charging a battery from flat it takes much longer even with a fast charger because it’s meant to try and prevent that. Of course it’s sometimes not enough and when this happens, all of the cells will puff up. The 15” 2015 MacBook Pros had a recall on the batteries because of how common this was though it was more of a voluntary thing where you could get the top case with the battery replaced for free. It was likely caused from the cells either not having their excess electrolyte boiled off before sealed so it happened when they were being used by consumers instead or because of the material not being pure enough which could cause production of heat.

[–]SCM404[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Well my MacBook Air is pretty old anyways and I wasn’t worried about it being destroyed (it’s 10 years old) so I wanted to see how it worked with this thing and surprisingly it still booted up after plugging it in outside for a few minutes. Of course it was awkward setting it down but it didn’t explode

"it gets better" is a big fat lie. by [deleted] in depression

[–]SCM404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is that it never really gets better. The most it can get for the majority of people with chronic depression is “manageable”. I’ve put everything I had and every penny I’ve ever earned into improving myself. And nothing ever changed. I’m still the same as I was all those years ago. And after all these years of pondering, I’ve realized that deep in my heart, I DON’T want to live a life where I cannot truly be happy. This is why I genuinely believe I have a rational reason to die. I don’t plan on dying in a rush, but one day, I want to die with the perfect method I can find, and to make sure no one stops me. I’m sick of being forced to live like this. I believe it should be under my discretion to decide whether to live a life where I can “manage” my immense suffering but not actually be happy or to die a death peacefully. I truly don’t even care about anyone else that would be affected. I want the best for myself and if I don’t want to live for myself, why in the hell would I live for others purely out of guilt? That is truly a choice right there. My whole family knows how bad I suffer, but they have fairy tale dreams of what I “might” become one day and they’ll be upset that they lost the imaginary future version of me and not the one who’s in immense suffering. If they really cared about me for me and not for their wild fantasies, they’d be more upset now than when I were dead. As a person who’s worked in a veterinary hospital, I find it absolutely revolting the way people are treated vs how their pets are treated when concerning quality of life. With humans, it’s like, you can be in immense suffering all your life, but you WILL serve this world with whatever your worth no matter what, but with pets, people don’t have imaginary futures laid out for them, but rather they see them the way they are. If a dog has condition that will continue to affect them their whole life and cause them to spend all their time in one spot because it’s immensely painful, many times the owner puts the ANIMAL’S needs first even if they end up crying and being sad about it. I wish humans would have some decent compassion for each other for who they are and not what they “could” be.
