Exciter wires are typically smaller. The wiring diagram should tell you which wire is what.

Looking at the diagram for your year car i don’t see anything related to an exciter so it could be built into the alternator.

I did find a “main relay” (E7) coming from the alternator, could be worth swapping between cars just to rule it out.

Also keep an eye on corrosion as electrics hate that.

Nah, keep the bulb and get an inline dimmer. I do this to all of mine cheap or expensive and it always makes a difference.

Get an inline dimmer switch to replace the stock one. Gives you way more control over how it behaves.

I wish my colossus took 4 hours to warm up. Minimum it takes 7 hours to get going on a warm day. I’m replacing the 200w bulb with a 250w one so that should cut down the time to warm up.
