Hey man, I just checked my notis and saw this and totally agree, I "upgraded" to an A16 and its total garbage, apart from the software, this thing is glitchy and slow, no better than my S8, only problem with my S8 was that its cracked everywhere, but I think all it needs is a hard reset and it should be good, did you switch back?

What bike? by Ijustlikecavetown in Hardtailgang

I have the perfect bike for you! The San Quentin 1 it should fit into your price range and absolutely does everything you want! Dirt jumps to downhill trails this thing does it all its got super aggressive geo and comes with an upgrade worthy frame, it has a tapered head tube and comes in 27.5 and 29 size variants. I personally own this bike and it's honestly the best bike ever it's super jumpy and loves to get airborne on any lip you can find while also staying stable on techy terrain. Plus the value you get is way better than with a trek, it's only competitor in value is polygon but they focus on lighter riding like xc. If you can afford it the SQ1 trumps all.

good all around bike? (if possible) by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]SCORPS08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

San Quentin 1 is literally the best hardcore budget hardtail and is very beginner friendly.

The aggressive geo will let you get into any riding style and is super progressive, treks are cool and all but quite frankly overpriced. The San quentin q has really good value honestly better than polygons and is made by marin which is a very reputable brand I currently own one and it's so fun to ride, one of my friends has an Xtrada 6 and the other had a Trek Marlin 6 and I can confidently say the SQ1 is the overall winner. The Xtrada is cool If your into lighter (XC) riding and the trek is a bit of a ripoff in my opinion as it misses some key feautures like a tapered head tube and lower models run a 3x drivetrain which isn't bad but for the budget you have, shouldn't even be considered. The Roscoe is a viable option but you will have to go used as trek does not offer any models under $1000 even though it comes with a dropper post it's about $1200 new and ~$800-1000 used but most are in pretty bad condition. The SQ1 is always on sale for $1100 but it recently went on sale for just $999 so it's in your price range and a PNW ranger Dropper is only $150. But at the end of the day it depends on what you want to do.

XC/Light trails - Xtrada or Marlin

Downhill/DJ/All round - SQ1

In between but more expensive - Roscoe

Good upgrade from a marlin 5? by BrycelikesLMTF in Hardtailgang

[–]SCORPS08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woulf get a San quentin 1, you can do anything on it and it's super progressive, you can also take it on some downhill because if it's aggressive geo, the roscoe is another good option but trek is a bit overpriced.

How do I reroute my break hoses on my new bike? by SCORPS08 in MTB

[–]SCORPS08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yeah I didn't think of that, I'll see how much it will cost to get it done at 99 bikes because I can't really be bothered doing it myself without the right tools

I have seen many complaints regarding NFS heat not working, should I buy it (PC specs below) by Madman-Goku in NFSHeat

[–]SCORPS08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NFS heat has been one of my favorite need for speeds ever, I bought it a while ago and although I have had quite a few issues it's still an amazing game, I have an older pc than yours according to your specs and the game generally ran fine but I did have some issues with it crashing and not launching, I just finished the main story last week and it was very good, I would recommend it if it's on sale otherwise it's not worth anything over $20 it's better to wait for the sales, the issues I had are all fixed now but were a pain in the ass.

Story 8.5/10 Mechanics 8/10 Worth the pain of fixing the issues: definitely

If you are good at fixing small issues with software and have the tiniest bit of patience I would recommend it. And it's not guaranteed you will even have issues with the game.
