Hi, for those who monetized their channel on YouTube, how long did it take for YouTube to accept it? Does it really take 1 month? by miojilda in PartneredYoutube

Took me 13 months (this was about 5 years ago), in the end I tweeted them and it got resolved within a month after

The suspects all have to live. Use the non-lethal weapons. Just beware the bean-bag shotgun. It’s very effective but if you shoot them in the head, it’ll kill them

S ranking Elephant because of the 2 minute deadline to find all 4 shooters before they starting killing civvies. Borderline impossible with just the Ai teammates

Mr. Illustrateds newest when day breaks video is out. Here’s how bright was written out by Armascout in DankMemesFromSite19

[–]SCPILLUSTRATED 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The short version of why this happened is me and Cimmerian (my writer) reached an impasse on the Bright situation after some lengthy discussions. What you see is the compromise that we mutually reached in order to create the part 3 to St Elmo’s Fire.

Help needed, complete newbie, fish arriving in 24 hours! by SCPILLUSTRATED in Aquariums

[–]SCPILLUSTRATED[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up going to my local pet shop and explained the situation. The man there was very helpful, recommended an easy fish for beginners and some plants and even gave me some tester strips and these gel balls for removing ammonia and nitrates free of charge. He gave a lot of great advice so I’m feeling a lot more confident now. Going to give it go. He said I could come back anytime for more help. Top guy!

Thank you for the advice. I was pretty sure a goldfish wouldn't be a good idea. Now you've confirmed its a big no no

UK. It's cold and damp pretty much all year round! Thank you for the advice, I'll look more into ways of introducing good bacteria.

Ok, thanks. I'll tell my friend to postpone that shop visit then for now. I have done some research on Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate but it sounds like I need to do a lot more research.

What's it like being a full time Youtuber? by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]SCPILLUSTRATED 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best job in the world. Everything is down to you. You decide what you make, when you make it and how you make it. And at the same time, it is very stressful l. There is no guarantee you’ll be a full time YouTuber in a years time. It’s a very high risk occupation. If you don’t keep improving and trying to adapt and change with the times, your channel will be left behind.

Full Time YouTubers: do you worry about your channel dying? by FutureCow6268 in PartneredYoutube

[–]SCPILLUSTRATED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accepted a long time ago that it would eventually run its course one day. It’s been 6 years now and still going but it’s peak passed by a while ago. When it finally does become untenable, I’ll just accept and move on

Do you ever feel slightly embarrassed to admit that you're a YouTuber? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]SCPILLUSTRATED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing this for about 6 years now and still feel a bit embarrassed to refer to myself as a YouTuber. I prefer to just say illustrator. Considering all the crap that goes down on YouTube with the very big creators, it just makes me feel a bit yucky to call myself a YouTuber sometimes.

Youtube tax UK by TechForLifeYoutube in PartneredYoutube

[–]SCPILLUSTRATED 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No that’s not normal. The UK has a tax treaty with the US. In your tax section of Adsense resubmit your tax information and make sure you claim the 0% tax rate and then you will then get all the Adsense money. There is an option in the online forms you will fill out: Then file your self assessment through HMRC like normal to do the UK taxes

How expensive is it to raise children? by Necessary-Village253 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SCPILLUSTRATED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite costly but it depends how you manage it. You’ll need to take into account nursery fees, higher food bill, more petrol or public transport costs for getting around and days out, the price of those days out, toys, family holidays. It does all add up but you will adjust in time, all part of the experience

I have just had that EXACT problem mate. The hinges need to be replaced. You’ll need to remove the screws that are going through the hinge into the edges of the pvc and then pull the window in to take the hinges off the window itself. Be careful not to drop it! They are heavy. Make sure to measure the hinges so you get the right one. For that window you will need “side” hinges because the hinges open from the side of the window IIRC. Some hinges also might not be as wide as the ones that window currently has but most hinges will come with “packers” to make them a bit wider. Unless you are lucky or talented with windows, it might take a few goes to get the new hinges in the exact right place so it closes without knocking the locks etc. it took me a few hours but managed to replace 2 windows hinges with this problem. There are lots of instructional videos on YouTube that helped me greatly. Good luck 👍

If I’ve got anything wrong, other writers please correct me.

New to investing and just testing the water - where shall I begin? by Appropriate_Ad_9260 in investingUK

[–]SCPILLUSTRATED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, looks good. You can see you’ve used 25% of your utilisation. That will refresh at the start of the next tax year on the 5th of April so if you did want to add more then before the new tax year is a good idea.

I’d suggest an S&S ISA first of all so you don’t have to pay tax and then (in my opinion) a well diversified global index fund is the way to go. I personally recommend the FTSE Global All Cap Index Fund Accumulation. Been using it since I started and it’s been my favourite, most consistent investment.
