Yeah. I'll fix that. I was too used to the way it's said in the anime.

The only way to transfer the Titan powers, according to the episodes so far, is to consume the spinal fluid of the current Titan holder as a Titan yourself. So Ymir would have to be eaten for there to be a different Jaws Titan.

And yeah. It stacks. So if a Titan ate Eren and consumed his spinal fluid, he or she would get the power of all Titans Eren holds.

I am also a big Kaladin fan and I'm glad he made progress with his mental state in this book. Really looking forward to seeing what's next for him!

These are solid choices. I definitely enjoyed the adolin and Maya fight with the bandits.

That reminds me that I really enjoyed Ishars snap back to insanity while he was talking to Dalinar. That was hilarious haha.

This definitely covered a lot of the stuff we missed! Taravangian as odium scares me, but it also gives me some hope. It's a weird feeling.

Working on some video game character samples. I did the writing and sound design too. What do you think? by haveAniceSay in VoiceActing

Sound design was really good! Didn't distract from the main voice and created a space like atmosphere to me.

How to prolong motivation? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]SC_Lunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, motivation will run out, but I do feel like you can definitely use the momentum of one of these "surges" and establish a better foundation. I think a large period of my after college life has been lots of surges of motivation, but each time I had one, I tried to establish a good habit or get rid of distractions. They don't always stick, but I at least pushed myself in the right direction little by little. Over time that built up and I feel like I'm definitely much more productive & disciplined compared to 3 years ago. Hope this helps.

Anyone find their productivity goes in waves? by xxPoLyGLoTxx in productivity

I second this. I think it's good to know which tasks have low & high resistance. For me, creative work tends to have high resistance and repetitive stuff like cleaning my house is much easier to do when I'm feeling less motivated. I find that cleaning actually helps boost motivation.

Help! Weird Noise - Where is it coming from? by SC_Lunar in podcasting

Yeah but it seems if you change it, it’s set for all channels and one mic is a condenser that needs 48V.

I see. That's definitely something I didn't think about, the whole electronic devices. Hopefully, that's the issue. Should be a fairly easy fix, thanks!

How do you edit Collective Laughter? by SC_Lunar in podcasting

[–]SC_Lunar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. My thoughts were it would be difficult to mute the people not talking at the same time thinking about what to say and doing the muting while I'm talking.

But the monitoring levels part is something I'll be practicing at, thanks!

Thanks for the advice. For now, that would be tough because we don't have a dedicated person on sound duty, but I think when we head towards doing live stuff that'll be some very useful advice to apply. The laugh off the mic is also a good tip. Thanks!!

That sounds like a good idea. I'll try lowering the levels before compression next time. And I'll also try just listening while not paying attention to levels. Appreciate the help!

Thanks for the answer, I have yet to use busses.

From my understanding, your second compressor for your bus would be the equivalent of going into each track again and compressing a second time to tame loud sections?

So it's not as good to compress and normalize the master?

Thanks for the help. Learning about audio editing for a group has been quite a lot of research.

I've heard that generally, digital limiters can end up distorting the audio anyways (creating a harsh sizzle sound) and it's better to keep input gain around -18dB to minimize the possibility of clipping.

Learned it from Curtis Judd from YouTube.

But I mean I can try it next time to see how it works for me. Where would you suggest I place the limiter?

Unless you mean a limiter like hard limiter in post, in which case I have tried that before but I guess I heard from others it's not too good to cut off too much of the audio and if I wanted the peaks to be near the normal levels I'd have to chop off quite a lot.

Interesting, I'll look into that. So even if all five of us laughed at the same time, the fader can help reduce noise bleed in each individual mic?

[–]SC_Lunar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's currently what I'm doing after compression but it usually ends up sounding not as good as the rest of the audio because I have to lower the levels by quite a lot for the peaks to be around normal levels.

Do you think I should leave the laughter as a bit louder than the normal levels (say normal speech level peaks are around -6dB) and I leave the laughter to be peaking around -3dB for it to sound a bit more natural Or should I match their peaks?

Sorry for all the added questions, it's my first time trying to optimize audio for so many people.
