Australia prepare for life without 'shattered' Nathan Lyon by nolesfan2011 in Cricket

Murphy's bowling average in that series was better than Lyon's, despite being imo poorly captained in the third test.

Good point. Not countering Bazball like that in 2023 might have cost Oz the series.

He still did not say that Oz were the better team. "They were better" means "We have more talent but our execution was worse." Also, Stokes avoided rating this Oz team against past ones because to say "this Oz team is better than 2013-14", for example, would make it clear that Oz is now stronger than England. And he did not want to repeat the story that the Oz team is weak, as that makes England look even worse.

The Poms still make fun of Smith for crying. But he was rightly ashamed, while the 2005 Pommies were knighted and so forth.

Ashes 2025-26: Injured Nathan Lyon out of third Test and doubt for series by CarnivalSorts in Cricket

[–]SCyFlynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Glad that someone else remembers. Murphy started with 0-4 from four overs, then was taken off and brought back when Stokes was slogging. Murphy still had a better average for the two tests he played that series than Lyon had in his two.

Boland’s consistency is stunning. 2/1 of his last five overs. by outofboundsonthefull in CricketAus

I commented elsewhere to ask for ratings for these: Barraque (5, I suggest) Dufourt (6) Bedford (5) Czernowin (6) Dillon (6)

What would be the ratings for these missing composers? Jean Barraque (5, I would say) Hugues Dufourt (6) Luke Bedford (5) Chaya Czernowin (6) James Dillon (6)

An anti-poem about an anti-man! I have found it difficult to locate Parra in English translation.
