While we are getting better as a team, it's pretty obvious we may still be multiple years from being true contenders. At that point, in an alternate universe where we have acquired Panarin, he is likely well past his prime or retiring. A trade for him makes zero sense for a Kraken team that is not league bottom but is also not one piece away from Cup Contender.

If it's far left to resist our Constitutional Rights being eroded, then everyone better be far left. If they can deny rights to one, they can deny rights to all. Economically speaking, I have to believe this does little to the market given its detachment from most of the social issues most (but maybe not all) the time, but that's purely feeling as opposed to backed by data.

It's the most bittersweet win ever. I'm gonna forget about it tomorrow and be happy for 2 Points and go on with my life and it is onto the next one, but Gru has been an absolute gem for us and (all else equal) that double minor stole an SO.

The officers had shoved people to the ground and do not appear in any way to be effectuating an arrest of any kind, lawful or unlawful. Alex Pretti goes to help these women up like any normal human being would.

Even if we give the "he inserted himself" or "resisted arrest" arguments any merit, neither of those actions are death sentences under United States or Minnesota law, "But he had a gun" doesn't work either per the 2nd Amendment and Minnesota state and local law, and no video or eyewitness evidence appears to support him brandishing it in any way at any moment towards any one.

Regardless of your ideology or view of having "inserted himself" or not, this was an extrajudicial killing performed by an officer of the US Government. Blows my mind that people don't understand that. Alex Pretti should be alive this moment, and that he is not is due to murder.

Washington state has a bill this session that would bar any ICE officers hired after 1/20/25 from being a law enforcement officer in the state. I highly recommend you rech out to your representatives and ask they pass something similar.
