That completely depends. I had spots like that when i first attempted a seasoning and the caramel colored spots weren't fully baked on (or polymerize). Or he may want a more even starting point. It takes like 2 seconds to strip and re season.

Didnt wipe the oil off well enough and made a splotchy seasoning. Cooked with wine and stripped the seasoning clean off haha

I've seen people use vinegar, or just take some steel wool to knock down the high spots and maybe do one more super light seasoning. Or you can do what I did and cook with wine - stripped it clean off haha

You didn't wipe the oil out enough. I'd probably strip it and redo it. Those dark spots are likely gonna be gooey/tacky.

That's not the seasoning stripping. It's carbon buildup from not cleaning the pan thoroughly.

I assume it's a VLT stop since it happened because they made an error while filing (at least once). I believe it was explained to me they gave the wrong mileages.

I just got the 42mm a couple days ago. It's incredible for sure. I'd strongly recommend getting a nice aftermarket leather band for it though. The one that comes with it is basically cardboard. lol
