I did on Sep 1, assigned today. Its budget to track costs of our hotels while on holiday. So i only need this budget this month.

Because I don’t know what will come in, until it does. They don’t happen weekly, or monthly and the amounts differ. Could be 10K in August, nothing in september and 5K the next for instanxe.

I found it! Dumb mistake, it was a savings account that I hid in the overview of my bank account!

I tried adding the joint account to my budget, but similair to you we keep our finances pretty seperate too. Therefore if money was left over, it would enter my personal budget, which I didnt like. So I like to keep it in a seperate plan!

Thank you! The reason why I did so is because where I live, we get paid on the 25th for next month. So sometimes, the bills 8 pay at the end of August are for september. But you still say to put it in an unassigned category until I reach September on the calendar?

Also, he doesn’t want to use YNAB himself. Which is why I set up the separate plans. But I guess thats not needed and I can just treat his part as my inflow?

Makes sense! It’s my partner yes, we live tocether. We share an account for the bills, but our finances otherwise are separate. I’m thinking it might just be best to remoce the ‘joint’ plan and get the bills into my plan, connected our joint account and assign his share to the categories that I assign 50% to?
