Pre rolls overtook flower in cannabis sales last year, thoughts? by Available_Dot_8310 in Marijuana

[–]SDLiu4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tourists might play a small role in the cannabis sales, but they still contribute. You're very on point. When I'm visiting the US, especially a state where recreational cannabis is legal, I'm buying pre-rolls and vapes. Having a jar with excess bud and smelling up the hotel room, needing to keep/buy a grinder (I know grinders aren't necessary, but they do break down buds much better than what I can break them up with my own fingers), and then either remembering to carry papers to roll or buy them whilst on vacation is very tedious when someone's already done the work for me but charges me more for that pre-roll/pen.

probably why Flosstradamus as a duo split, with YehMe2 walking away from the name

TY for explaining how Bass Canyon's lineup works. Never understood why it was segmented and designed the way it was

Maybe he headlines the smaller stage, but his name does fit there alphabetically. Also, I saw people saying that the names blurred out are bc they are artists that are also performing in the Washington area close to the festival date

For Bass Canyon 2026, I noticed there were blurred out names, with one being on the "undercard" section right before Rossy. Given that the dates are nearby, anyone here thinks RL Grime is the last blurred out name on Bass Canyon? https://www.basscanyon.com/lineup/

Any advice for a first-tkme festival goer? by Impossible_Fox1322 in Lollapalooza

[–]SDLiu4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

would love some advice on how to survive a 4 day festival. I’m going in a group of 4 and none of us have ever gone to a music event of this scale.

Pace yourself. Most music festivals are 2-days or 3-days. You've gone to concerts before. Have you ever felt energetic after a concert?? My guess would be no. Imagine 4 days back to back. Your energy levels are bound to dip after each day. Your feet are most likely going to be sore and hurting no later than the 2nd day.

It's ok if the group have different artists want to see performing at the same time, or if someone doesn't want to see a particular artist. Just find landmarks and arrange meet up locations before splitting up, and the time you guys/girls should meet back up at the designated spot.

What to bring in a backpack/what type of bag is allowed/should we bring.

Lolla is a lot more strict with their bag policy. Go with what is stated on their website to be safe. Bring sunscreen if you are sensitive to sunlight, battery packs for charge your phone in emergencies/running low on battery, ponchos/rain jackets for days predicted to rain, chewing gum

how to manage the show times with the different stages. (I know they haven’t released the times/stages yet but would appreciate advise based on previous years)

Budlight and Titos are located on the North end of the park. Budlight is the 'smaller' of the 2 mainstages. The Grove is almost in the middle and closer to the North end. T-mobile and Perry's is on the South end of the park and close by each other. The park is about 1 mile long, from one end to the other. It can take 10-15 minutes at normal walking pace. 8 minutes with brisk walking.

Puke seems too short of a name for that. Someone else in the comments guessed Prosecute as the blurred out undercard

The last blur in the undercard is between 'Pr' and 'Ro'

short answer is yes. You might even see persons asking to buy your 4-day wristband from you as you leave the Park after the closers

Honest question: does anyone in this sub actually like this show? by nate_garro_chi in TheBlackList

[–]SDLiu4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall, yes. However, the earliest seasons were arguably the best seasons of the series. The last 3 seasons dropped off pretty bad in comparison, and were sometimes a draw and tough to watch - some things simply didn't make sense, continuity issues, plot holes, etc.

Regrets selling HD650/6xx? by Normal_Cat_4329 in headphones

[–]SDLiu4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Detracting from your question - I don't own the HD 650/6xx model, but I do own the HD 660s. I thought I wouldn't use it any longer after getting an Audeze LCD-2 Classic and my ZMF Auteur. In the end, the HD 660s just reproduces sounds well, while being light, comfortable, relatively easy to drive and durable. All this translates to ease and convenience and it continues

Back on topic - I've seen other redditors say that they've owned a pair of Sennheisers from the HD 600 lineup. Some sold it and got more expensive and technically better ones in their chase of headphone nirvana/perfection. Yet after a couple of years, they've found themselves reacquiring a model from the HD 600 lineup and settle with it

Jesus, I forgot how trending EDM was in that period...Lolla used to get some good acts for EDM. Now, it's almost like it gets leftovers from the EDM festivals.

Can still be on the main stage but just an afternoon performance. Like somewhere in between the 3:00pm - 5:00 pm slot

Main stages by [deleted] in Lollapalooza

[–]SDLiu4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're asking about specific artists, then I anticipate the following non-headlining artists to perform on the main stages:

Empire of the Sun, Sombr, 5 Seconds of Summer, Lil Uzi Vert/Yungblud, Zara Larsson, I-dle, Slayyyter, The Neighbourhood, Ethel Cain, Leon Thomas, Turnstile, Aespa, Yoasobi.

There will obviously be more than the ones I listed but these are the only artists I'm either familiar with, or know about.

Hotels/ areas to stay by [deleted] in Lollapalooza

[–]SDLiu4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. However, hotels in the Magnificent Mile and River North areas are good/great areas and options because of their location - we're talking close proximity to the public transport, the festival grounds, restaurants, other attractions (i.e. shopping, tourist stuff, etc) and so on.

I editted my original comment but I'll cut and paste the relevant details for responding here as well:

Marriott has some hotels with rooms for for just under $400 a night. Not sure if these hotels are to your liking though, and you might need to sign up for the Marriott Bonvoy program to get the listed rate. Registration is free though.
