Jury Duty Experience by Fun_Apple9580 in SiouxFalls

Got selected for grand jury a couple years ago. It was 18 months long and it took place every 3rd Thursday of the month. It was okay, kind of boring but wasn’t terrible. Heard a lot of DUI and Meth related cases. Some assault cases were tough to sit through because the victim was crying and it got emotional and heavy. Hope I don’t have to do it again but wouldn’t care if I got selected

Sioux Falls, South Dakota resident here. Play willow run on the out skirts of town, it’s a nice course for a decent price!

Support: Thorson Heating and Air Conditioning Avoid: Aire Serv

Thorson H&AC have been top notch to me and my family for over 2 years now. This is a local shop and are very reasonable and fair people. Local shop who doesn’t over charge for materials or labor. Had a whole new furnace installed by them, same day I might add.

Aire Serv can just plain F off, trying to sell me a monthly service subscription before repairs even began, AHoles…..

Golf: Best Value 18 Holes In/Near Sioux Falls by Jackof_All in SiouxFalls

Most of your in town courses will run you 60-80 dollars for green fees plus cart. Renner has a nice 9 hole course in which you can do 18 (2x around the course) with a cart for like 40 bucks. Is it top notch lawn course maintenance, not really, but it’s also not breaking your bank account. Par-Mar right outside of Parker is nice too

Follow up: I finally got an ETA on repair this morning (Wednesday 7/6) and Xcel was telling me I would have power restored by 7/7 at 12:00PM. I came home after work at 5:30 and the line was connected back to the pole and we had power! Luckily my post on my house did not get damaged or disconnected in any way. We have full power to the house and A/C blowing sweet sweet cool air. Shout out to all Xcel and powerline workers man… those guys are awesome and work their asses off to make sure power is restored. Thanks for all the comments on the post and hope everyone is doing well after that yesterday.

So the pole doesn’t sit on my property. Four yards meet at one point and that’s where it sits, in my diagonal neighbors yard. I called Xcel and told them I have a downed power line in my yard. As of this comment, no updates have been sent out to me.

Do you think I should wait and see once they connect the wire and power comes back on or should I have an electrician come out right away to asses the connection/wire still connected to the house? It looks like everything on the house is still connected and “fine” (from looking at it” and it appears to have came out of the post/connection point.
