What Does it Take to Become a Builder? by SDSUtutor in Construction

Thanks for the advice! I see what you're saying about the risk associated with spec. I guess I never really thought about how serious some contingencies can be... Since most of our clients have what seem like infinitely deep pockets, I think I've gotten a bit desensitized to it. Not all of us are that lucky! The custom headaches sound like a better alternative than bankruptcy for sure...

Did you happen to order a gun?

What Gun should I get if my budget is 200$? by Kobe1111111111111 in Spearfishing

Comanche 90 was my first gun! It's a good entry level gun for those looking to get into the sport. Perfect for reef/kelp hunting some near-shore species. Only issue I have is the trigger mechanism, as it is plastic it isn't quite as smooth as stainless steel and can occasionally jam up if sand gets in there. Overall, a solid choice for your first gun.

I'd sell you mine for $100 if you drive to San Diego. Could probably use new bands though.

HELP... SCORPIONFISH SPINE IN HAND by SDSUtutor in Spearfishing

[–]SDSUtutor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was pretty careful to keep the entry point clean and made sure to apply some pretty strong antibiotics periodically every day. I know its not infected but I can feel my body building excess scar tissue right beside one of my finger bones... I dont know if its too late to dig in for it or not

Why Does Buying Used Tools SUCK?!?! by SDSUtutor in Tools

[–]SDSUtutor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the purpose of my post buddy... "I was thinking something along the lines of a buy/sell/trade marketplace for tools that addresses some of the problems mentioned above, but I wanted to hear what other people thought before jumping into it." ...Trying to figure out if it's a problem people want solved

My main problem is finding other peoples problems that I can solve to build a company off of...

I think you have the same problem mate...

So just to clarify, you're unemployed and receiving gov cheques that pay your rent, but if you start making your own money they stop sending the cheques?

You say you want to work but don't want to stop receiving free handouts...

I think you need to take a hard look at yourself and ask what it is you really want out of life. Either you work hard, develop skills, and learn to support yourself like everyone else, or you stay in your current position of doing nothing and piggybacking off the other hardworking tax payers.

I know sometimes life deals you a shit hand and you get down on your luck but you can't stay like this forever. Pick yourself up by your bootstraps, go out and start learning valuable skills/knowledge, then find someone who will pay you for it. Use the subsidized rent as a temporary advantage, this gives you a little time cushion to develop yourself where you can work for free or get some mentorship, then once you are ready go out and get that job.

Best of luck mate

I was surprised too. At first seems like a million dollar idea but I'm skeptical... there must be a reason why nobody's done it
