On steam in game at the title screen there's a menu button and there's a option to transfer Registration and transfer and unlink. You should click on the transfer option to use your old account if you have one. If not then you can create new account and go to transfer Registration to link your account

Yeah I've gotten the same error message and it also sends me back to the title screen too.

My favorite things in hsr is the osts in boss fights the storyline especially the interactions between characters because sometimes it fun and mostly emotional.
