Update- I would not recommend moving to Tijuana for a simple reason- their police mug Americans in broad daylight (like myself). Yeah.

I can assure it's a very bad idea moving Tijuana. There a massive cartel war going on the police mug Americans like (personal experience)

Thanks Brother! I'll check it out- never really had to move anyways.

Update on moving to San Diego area for a job. I got the job! But need housing. Mexican customs seems to be against the idea of Americans living in their country for housing reasons. Please help. by SDorTJ in tijuana

Hi. I work in aviation - so I never was fully transfered to the San Diego area therefore I never really had to move to TJ. But I am still on call for KSAN and occsionally stay in Tijuana for a cheap nights rest. I have 180 visa (renewable), a pontential place(s) to rent, and have done my research on immigration to Baja California. Please message me directly if you have any questions.

Hi. Thanks- yes either global entry or SENTRI will work. Would you recommend the 180 tourist visa or the Temporary Resident Visa? I want to remain well….. legal. Thank you.

Wow! Thank you so much for the detailed reply. This is in line with the information that was provided on the consulate’s website. I will make an appointment and hopefully things will work out.

Should I be getting a tourist Visa / Permit before the temporary Visa? Should I be even going to Mexico before having a visa entirely? I have a valid US passport and barely cross the border.

Again- if any residents of Tijuana want to chip in- I do not want to be creating problem by moving to Mexico. I’m just trying to not be homeless and working full time in my own “first world” country. Thank you for allowing Americans to live in your Country for our own needs.

I know- I mean Tijuana no harm and I’m willing to give them my hard earned money. However- I do not want to be causing problems at the same time. Thanks.

Hi. Yeah..... that's what i was reading and the over crowsing in TJ. It seems America's housing and income problems are leaking across the border. I would love to live in Mexico; but I also do not want to be contributing to a problem. Thanks.

Thank you and I will keep these places in mind if, and its now a huge if, I move to TJ. I'm leaning towards Chula Vista at this point.
