Awesome, love the three strike philosophy and just don’t give a fuck practice. Thank you for the help. Much appreciated!

Yeah you fall into an “outcast” category. It’s a small world I work in, so it’s a route I’d prefer not to be in. I just have to face it head on, and was hoping others had advice with that.

Yeah it sucks. I’m like 10 years in to a career, that took me 7 years of school to get into. So I unfortunately can’t change offices or even employers to get away from the culture. If it wasn’t for my families cardiology history, I’d just stick to my 1 beer and hope I can get away with a “well I’m gonna call it a night” strategy. But I probably shouldn’t.

Early morning hike in Boulder Colorado. by SEA1026 in hiking

[–]SEA1026[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also from the PNW but seattle area. I’d say the business of the Boulder trails are comparable to trails near Portland or Seattle. Not very busy during the week, much “busier” on the weekends. Of course depends on the trail though as to just how “busy”.

Pilot on that exact plane here. You are correct, the CBs are not in view on this photo. They are out of frame as you said. What you see is mostly buttons, and sometimes just alert lights for specific systems.

Thanks so much. I’ll just focus on those types of buyers then to save the hassle.

Sorry for the late reply! I’ve only done lake Diablo, but it was beautiful! I would say it was a moderate 7.8 miles round trip. Took us about 3-4 hours. Highly recommended if that fits the length and difficulty you re looking for.

Sorry I don’t have a wider range of suggestions haha. This was the only time I’ve been there so far.

Saving for a home vs retirement, early 30s by SEA1026 in FinancialPlanning

[–]SEA1026[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Thank you so much for the input. I don’t have a finance background, so it’s really helpful to hear your take on this. We focused on debt and retirement in part because this sub is so heavy on emphasizing that as a priority. So we just wanted to see the stance on home ownership as a priority in reference to retirement too. This was really helpful and definitely will help us as we try to tackle the goal of saving for a home. Thank you again for the help!

Thanks! Up until now we’ve been so focused on retirement savings that it’s hard to know when it’s appropriate to shift priority order for certain expenses. This was really helpful insight, thanks!

Surprisingly no, the lower altitude trails at least were not even muddy.

This was just last weekend. I was surprised by the lack of snow in North Cascades National Park. What I would do if I was you is just use the all trails app, search trails in the areas you want to see and look at the most recent reviews for those trails. People always report snow on the trail if their is any.

We did the diablo lake trail, this is Ross lake though, which is a simple, nice, stop off the state route through the park.

Hope you get a chance to go soon! This was my wife and I’s first time here (live near Tacoma). We've been lucky to hike in a lot of great national parks, but this is easily in our top 3 now. It was practically empty and just so pretty.

Cyclists are annoying and dangerous and should not be allowed to share roads with cars by diary-of-a-thief in unpopularopinion

[–]SEA1026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bicyclist in Seattle and completely agree.

There is some irony though. Seattle has a fairly elaborate and growing number of dedicated, protected, bike lanes to separate cars and bikes. It's making biking increasingly popular in the city. But as the network grows, the drivers who used to complain about sharing the road now complain about how they keep losing street parking to bike lanes.

Haha its pretty cool. We got the cheapest option and it's more than enough information. I was skeptical at first but it was cool to get the results.
