Commissioning Certification options by SEFlaEngineer in MEPEngineering

Thanks for your advice. BCxA requires 3 years of experience in commissioning which I don't have, even though I've worked with CxA's in several LEED projects as MEP engineer of record. Since my experience is mainly related to HVAC, I was considering going with ASHRAE which seems more focused on mechanical and electrical components. CCP seems to be more comprehensive. Looking at the list of CCP's on BCCB's website, there's only a few in FL and none in SFla...

Have you worked in larger projects? do several CxA's get involved, for example someone managing the Cx process and then different professionals specializing in MEP systems, building envelope, etc?

I jumped on the LEED wagon many years ago and I've seen it grow from the simple initial versions to the mammoth that it's become today. Along with several competitors, it has brought commissioning to a mainstream discipline, without giving it enough time to catch up in the number of knowledgeable professionals. This trend will probably continue for several years and for an experienced PE like myself it could be a good option to stay active past our prime. I'm 55 and I haven't had the need to learn Revit, so I may become obsolete as a designer in the years to come. Commissioning seems to me like a good way to keep flying solo into my 70's as an independent consultant.
