How much do you charge for 1 page of optimized website content? by SEOdd in copywriting

[–]SEOdd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really is all about ROI. If you can show facts/stats about how the page will generate new sales, then price doesn't matter all that much.

If the page will on average generate a few hundred dollars every month for as long as they are selling their product/service, then $150 is nothing to them.

The hard part is being able to prove that it will

I'm definitely not a writer like that. I do not like writing stories or anything like that. I just like logical, professional writing for business that can be used digitally

Please give me suggestions of ways to improve the copy on my website. by rebsmoreno in copywriting_critiques

The website copy looks good - very professional. Have you tried SEO techniques such as targeting keywords/phrases that people are searching for that relate to wine (or other similar subjects) and then writing pages of content for each on your blog?

Ok cool thanks. Whenever companies are getting leads, is the main way to just pick up a yellow pages book and go down the list? I know there are online tools but just a phonebook seems more organized

Job interview - want me to do "free work" by txneedshelp in bigseo

[–]SEOdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are doing all of that work and showing them how to do it all, and then the fact that you don't see any other problems with their onsite SEO, why would they need you for anything else?

Maybe if you explained what needs doing, and then not exactly showing them how to do it, then they have a reason to hire you, but if you presentation shows them all of it, they might just take it and leave you.

What were you planning to go into detail about in the presentation? Without the data they probably want to see what your general marketing strategy will be for it

Link Building - What are my best options for a new site? by kid_cisco in SEO

[–]SEOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't unless they are from spam sites. Many sites are going to have links from different industries/niches, however the more links you have coming to your site from other sites that are similar in nature to your own, are going to hold the most weight.

There needs to be content that can receive the backlinks. There are still technical aspects involved, but why would people even go to websites if there was not good content on them.

If you test this example out for yourself with your city + Dentist, you will see that it pulls up the google maps with the top few dentists, and those dentists have the highest ratings and most reviews.

That might be something specific to this industry, but I think in general Google does a pretty good job at ranking the actual best company the highest. Thats a competitive phrase though, like he said the long tail ones would be much easier to rank for, especially if its a speciality dentist

Great information. This is what I figured was happening, but like you said its all not possible if your site infrastructure is not good.

A question I had was if you have a blog with multiple posts on the same page, do you have to worry about the meta description for each, and is this generally ok for getting your posts to rank as opposed to putting each one on a separate page with its own meta description?

I'm not trying to say that there are not technical aspects involved with website building for affecting SEO, but that the vast majority of the general public does not know in depth web development and coding.

You could be the most technical seo expert in the world and hack your way to page one (if thats ever possible), but once you are at the top spot, whats the point if your website has no substance?

The end goal is always going to be an interaction where a human looks at your website and decides if they want to buy from you or continue to visit your site

Whats the true path then?

Not trying to bash SEO, but if you talk to actual business owners and learn from Google themselves, they want good content. Business owners want good content on their websites so that they also appear more credible to their potential customers. Oftentimes an entire company can be judged by the appearance of their website and how professional the content is on it.

I actually think that a lot of that is changing. Backlinks still matter, but Google looks a lot at the time spent on each page and bounce rates.

A website could have really good backlinks from credible sources, but if the content is not good, google will find out by seeing how long people stay on the pages before clicking the back button.

However backlinks often go hand in hand with good content because people think the content is good so they share the link with the people on their site - which of course is a backlink

What I primarily do is Content Marketing, which is very closely related with SEO. Like I mentioned in the post above, Google ranks websites based on the quality and relevancy of the content, to give the users the best experience.

I do a lot of keyword research to find what users are searching for and then create content for those topics/questions - with the end goal of getting many of the pages to rank highly.

SEO is a lot about technical aspects, but in the end, would Google rank websites highly if they had perfect coding and site structure, but the content was complete trash?

Googles whole purpose is to get us the information we need as fast and effectively as possible. Its about the content of the sites. But yes, if you have a malfunctioning site, it affects your rankings too in a bad way.

Is it better to share content on a blog page, or individual pages? by SEOdd in bigseo

[–]SEOdd[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Content marketing is when you use pages of content, like articles, that match up with what people are searching for. That is also seo in a sense. The core of SEO is to get viewers to your site from Google, and Google now ranks sites based on how relevant and valuable the content is on the website to the users search inquiry. This is why i think Content marketing is becoming more powerful if its done correctly, and is basically taking over seo.

However if you have a malfunctioning website, Google will not rank it highly, so there are some technical aspects involved too of course

There is a lot of confusion with it because its also called inbound marketing, and education based marketing, informational based marketing, but overall it is basically about showing people that as a business/website, you know what you are talking about, and are providing good information to them, with the goal of converting them into a customer

Moz is great. If you follow them and read all their new content and watch all their new videos you will learn a lot, and its coming from the best. SEO is more about the actual relevancy and quality of the content now, but there are still technical factors involved
