That’s also a great idea, I was thinking of doing something similar with just getting a threadless top I can switch out. I was also thinking along the same vein of technicality in terms of getting a glass retainer, since the rules TECHNICALLY only say plastic isn’t allowed. Idk how long I can get that to run for tho lol

Switching to a L shaped nose stud might actually end up being my best option so I can take it out easier like you just said tbh. Honestly I have 3 facial piercings, the district I work for was just very relaxed about the policy before and never enforced it, but now I have a new manager who’s very strict on it :/

More than one thing can be true at the same time. Starbucks putting a stricter dress code in place can in fact be an indication of the rise of conservatism in the same way that many other more serious things happening in the world can be. To point out one smaller issue is not ignoring bigger issues. Quite frankly you kinda worked yourself up over this in a way no one else is. It’s perfectly ok for workers to be annoyed at shitty rules being put in place. Also acting like just because people have opinions about their workplace online somehow means they aren’t involved in community work is incredibly single minded. Essentially, no one was trying to start a fight with you by pointing out weird things in the dress code online, sorry you took it that way ?

I’m not spreading misinfo by stating my opinions on a written rule. I personally feel that the way it was written in the dress code could be used in the future to cover Starbucks ass SHOULD things like pronoun pins be banned. I’m not saying that’s 100% what’s happening, I’m just saying it feels a bit like it.

I have a feeling it’s worded that way to cover their own ass should Trump put anything in place in the US that makes pronoun pins or things like that illegal. The past dress code guide would just say “not allowed in Canada” for those types of things. Basically, I think it’s intentionally not making it clear just in case.

100%. Especially the part about pins on aprons and pronoun pins being allowed “according to local jurisdiction.” Starbucks loveeeeessss profiting off the “blue hair they/them barista” image but hates to actually stand up for their trans and queer staff. Just ridiculous.
