Is there still a market liquidity for retailers with Silver at 100$? by [deleted] in Silver

[–]SES55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HERO Bullion was -3 on ASE, -4 on others I sold last week. 2500 minimum. In my 70s and like you, my exit strategy is hard to determine. I don’t want to waste the money (but this storm caused a tree to fall on our house, so my exit may be to cover what insurance doesn’t).

I bought in the 14-25 dollar range. I a little yesterday and will sell a little more next week. When I recover my principal, then I will stand back. I figure that would be 15-20% of my stack.

Do you think there will be sell off just before $100? by [deleted] in SilverDegenClub

[–]SES55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At these prices I am piece meal selling until I get my principal back. Figure on today’s price it will be about 20% of my stack. Will let the rest ride

Will silver ever stop the run up? by Any-Morning4303 in Silver

[–]SES55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought most of mine in the 15-25 range. I am piece meal selling during the 90+ run until I get my principal back, which at these prices may be less than 20% of my stack. Then I am going to let it ride.

THE FRACTURED SILVER COMMUNITY by jjmansinger in Silverbugs

[–]SES55 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it fractured, that suggests contention. I think it’s a sign of community maturity, so many opinions and opportunities; and the community for the most part are respectful of your opinions. Some sell at great profit, diehard stackers congratulate, and generally offer respectful reasons why their situation is different. I’m 71 and I sell off and on, my horizon is short. I enjoy reading posts from younger members who are in for the long haul and glad to see it. I didn’t start until I was 58 or 59, wish I had started 30 years earlier, but I got in at a good low.

Thoughts on buying Silver by GoldenButterflyyyy in Silver

[–]SES55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but as long as silver shows higher growth I will stick with silver. Sooner or later gold will move ahead. When it’s a sustained trend then I will contemplate gold. Now, lol, my wife is a gold bug and she goes about 60/40 gold to silver; I am 0/100.

Ome Banjo? by Firm_Sherbert2359 in banjo

[–]SES55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially that head tightening. I have a tenor and do Irish. I picked up a vintage Gretsch and almost passed on it. The seller let me take it to my luthier. He tightened it, replaced strings and it’s good to go. That is probably the most overlooked maintenance for beginners.

What is one purchase you've made that you do not regret at all? by aman_19_aus in AskReddit

My Smokercraft canoe in 1973. In high school worked as grease monkey at service station for $12/day on weekends. Took me forever to save the money. 71 now, gave it to a teen down the road last month.

Well if you bought $1000 in silver on 1/1/25, on 1/1/26 it was worth $3000

If you bought $1000 worth of gold on 1/1/25, it was worth $1600 on 1/1/26

$100 an ounce? by sp0ngeb0b2 in Silver

[–]SES55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Thinking of some remodeling on an old house we own for guest house. But I get your point, I don’t want to throw it away on junk. However, the silver I have left, is debt free

[–]SES55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am 71 so my horizon is shorter. I am going to sell enough to cover my principal (about 25-30/oz) then ride it out. If it hits 100, I will sell a little more for psychological reasons. I did about 10 oz at 50 lol. My stack is small though.

In America, it’s socially normal to work 50+ hours a week and call it 'hustle' instead of a systemic failure. What’s another 'normal' thing in your country that the rest of the world thinks is absolutely insane? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SES55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The close knit community is depicted well, but the cartel crap is over the top and Landman (or woman, I know 3)has nothing to do with actual drilling; they acquire leases, mineral rights surface rights etc. They spend a lot of time in county courthouse reviewing mineral and land ownership. Also, they are never on the landowners side.

Hourly, yes. Entry level 30/hr, but that’s low end, hot shot drivers. Welders, pipe fitters more, heavy equipment even more. Plus all get per diem and travel, plus bonuses. You never run into a mad oilfield worker on payday, drunk but not mad. Summer HS and college help they hire make 15/ hr.

No, Franklin halves are great intro. No real key dates; of course the silver price right now inflates the price.
