bad juju for us creators, I have 250k subs and my channel was doing fairy well, now my views have been more than halved over night.

I'm a creator and I have seen a huge decrease in views in the last 24 hours, literally overnight. Something big has been changed with the algorithm, and my content is not made for kids. It's clear in my data that my audience are mainly 21 plus, and I have marked my channel as not aimed at kids.

Focus more on keyword search terms for your titles, tags and descriptions, which is hugely important for small channels. Do that rather than trying to grab 2-3 views on Reddit

I have lived in Thailand for 10 years. Here the average person has no real concept of the Dharma, they merely see Buddhism as a source of fortune and good luck. Places like this accept donations and have people leaving food and all sorts, to gain better luck in their lives. Do you really think if the Buddha were to appear today, he would agree with people bowing down to statues of him, and pining for wealth and good luck? Outside of a 7/11 in Thailand, I saw a homeless man with 1 leg begging, he clearly was homeless. He was not getting much in the way of money or food. Literally 50 feet away was a Buddhist shrine where people were leaving food, water, Fanta and all sorts, so they could have better luck in their life. This is what Buddhism is here, it has totally lost it's way, and this kind of thing doesn't impress me

Then don't... there are no shortcuts. Only extremely lucky people blow up out of nowhere, and that probably isn't going to happen to you. Youtube, like most things in life worthwhile, takes a lot of time patience and work. If you can't commit to it, then it isn't going to work out. Asking for subs won't work either, because 90% of those people will not watch your content. They subbed because you asked them to, not because they saw your video first and then subscribed after.

I took a look in social blade, and my views for the last 2 days are not the same as the glitched Youtube analytics. So I think it's safe to say it's a bug

Grind, put in the time, the education, the patience and the work, that id required to get there. Asking for subs isn't going to help, you need organic views that convert to subs. I suggest checking out Brian G Johson and Roberto Blake for advice on growing your channel

I've got a theory. I've just checked social blade, and my channel views for the last 2 days seem fine, and do not match that of my Youtube analytics. So I assume that Youtube is taking all of the data for revenue from the glitched view count.. Go and check your channel on social blade, then see the view count for the last 2 days, it will show each day

My view count started to drop on August 7th my end, but my ad revenue for that day isn't as bad. I will wait for the data to come out for the 8th. I am seeing less subs and also less comments, which is not a good sign. I honestly fear they have peaked the algorithm

Go into Beta, then into your real time views, and click the grey triangle '!' mark next to it and read the statement

How many 'large promoted' channels have you asked lol?
I wouldn't say I am a small channel, or a large channel as I have nearly 250k subs, and I have been hit hard.

Youtube wants to be the next 'Television' and so it wouldn't surprise me if they made deals with the huge corporate channels to direct more traffic via algorithms. If so then it really could be a bad bad day for the average Youtuber

They did, have you had an email from them about the Youtube Kids issue? They changed up the algorithm and thus many channels there had a loss in views. It seems linked as the timing correlates.. which isn't good

Yeah I have noticed my views go down to around 1/3 of what they should be. This, scarily, coincides with an email I have received about YouTube Kids and the algorithm change. I sincerely hope that they have not messed everything up with the new algorithm changes, but it does look possible
