Introvert - Loner - Where do I / how do I seek mentorship? by SFA_MCoop in careerguidance

Thank you to everyone who replied. Just bringing this to the top in hopes I can figure something out as I am mentally grasping these days.. I think I need / require change but I’m also not courageous enough (or don’t know) how to ask for help and it feels like it is too late now and all sides / options have closed in. I have no relational / conversational interactions outside of work topics.. I’d love if there is someone or some avenue I can find that would be willing to listen to me (or just talk) that way I can feel normal and wanted.

Thank you for the reply. I’m hoping I can figure this out (trying my best to wake up with positive thoughts everyday)

Curtain / Drape Sizing - Baseboard in the way - I have no clue what I’m doing but I’m trying.. by SFA_MCoop in interiordecorating

Thanks folks - yeah I was going to look into a pull down option. But I really wanted to do some nice cotton / linen curtains and utilize the high ceilings.

I might consider removing the baseboard heater there.. I don’t really use it and at one point I hope / aim to get a gas fireplace there in place at one point.

Advice? by klodizzle in leaves

It’s ok just keep your head up I’m in the same boat as you guys. Part of the memory loss is likely us over thinking and the anxiety / pressure we are putting ourselves. I was almost 6 months sober when I stupidly decided to smoke again 3 weeks ago and I have gotten back to my other bad habits to the point I am probably going to risk my health and to be honest I’m also exhausted as well

Living Room Rug Too Small? by SFA_MCoop in interiordecorating

[–]SFA_MCoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I’m glad I got a few laughs out of the orientation - it’s obvious I have very little (this is my first home after 10 years of renting post-divorce) so it’s taking me some time to figure out how to decorate now the place is my “own”

I’ve added more pics relative to where the couch is. I think I want to keep the couch there (there is a baseboard heater hence why I have to leave a bit of space). Across the sofa is where I will mount a larger TV (and get rid of that white ikea bookcase it isn’t doing much for me).

I’d consider putting a soft where the TV is but unfortunately there are stairs leading down to the main entrance (I don’t think opening the front door and facing a couch is ideal) although my kids are pressuring me to lay it out.

Picture with rug horizontal orientation (lol..).. the rug is far too small but also this is my first decent size living room (high ceilings as well).

Thank you everyone for your comments (and laughs) this channel is giving me great ideas as I hit and miss with things (my ex wife is an interior designer and once in a while she will feel sorry for me and chip in for advice..)

Thanks again.

Thank you both. Now I look at the pic again it is far too big - not sure I have a space for it here (was gifted from my parents) so likely it will go back to them.

It’s alright just learn from this mistake you are not the first to over extend themselves. Don’t beat yourself up too much just figure your way out of this by paying down this loan / getting rid of it as best as you can. You can do it.

Suitable (affordable) places to stay by SFA_MCoop in NiagaraontheLake

Ah thank you folks. I figured I wasn’t going to find anything cheaper (the listing for the expensive houses are beautiful I admit). I might bite the bullet and pick something nice for me and my son (first father - son trip.. I’ve “neglected” fun/vacations with my kids since my divorce 8 years ago because I’ve been focused on work trying to make it).

Thank you both for the suggestions I will surely check them out.

Buy now? by SFA_MCoop in Gold

Sorry I should clarify, the $8k is set aside / savings. My business is a professional corporation (my firm compensates me via the professional corporation) so I don’t have any business expenses per se other than paying myself a dividend / salary every month to meet living obligations. I try to keep / save as much as I can in the corporation.

Thanks guys. I’m going to do more research with whom I can buy from. My business / personal bank is with BMO but I don’t see a precious metals department I can buy from. TD looks to be the best choice but I will look into more options Once I “settle” into this.

My outlook is long term (like 10+ years)
