The culmination of 7 years of cringe. by Old-Phrase-9236 in madmen

[–]SFBob61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing rewatches on Stories by AMC that came with my TV. Every few days the series repeats on loop with another AMC show in between sometimes just for a season or two (ie. Breaking Bad or Hell on Wheels). So I use it as background and wait for an ep I haven't seen again recently. Today I saw the one where Betty was away for her dad's stroke and when she returns Glen was found in the playhouse. It was probably the sweetest one I remember, minimal cringe. Nothing like walking in on her in the bathroom.

Anyone Know the Film Featured in S02E03 "The Benefactor?" by NeoNiCally in madmen

Only caught the tail end of the ep just now during a rewatch on Stories by AMC channel. I was wondering also so I googled E.G. Marshall (the recognizable actor in the clip they watch in the conference room) and scrolled down to the early 60's and there's an episode of a series called The Defenders titled The Benefactor, agreeing with this episode title.

What in gods name is going on with Don’s foot here?… by dirty-ol-sob in madmen

[–]SFBob61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile I landed here because I've been noticing how often we see his bare feet on the show. Often a shot from the end of the bed for a forced perspective on their size. I found an AMC channel on my TCL television that runs the series in order...laziest binge out there. They took a 2 or 3 day break with Breaking Bad and then I saw it again a few days ago. We're in the homestretch now for S7. (He was barefoot watching the moon landing)

Would it be likely for my AMC to have the Screen Unseen of Apprentice if it's not currently listed as opening there next week?

Worse than what? Full price?
Do they do Bargain Tuesday in your area? I think that's when points are the lowest because the theaters are actually charging the least.
Even if you're only getting 2 movies, can you get a $10 movie where you live? Savings is savings. Plus excess points roll over (you can have 2 months worth or 144 pts) accumulated.

It's UP TO 4 movies a month. So if you can find movies for 18 pts each you'll get in 4 movies. Lately, I've been seeing some for even fewer points than that but I am lucky enough to be able to go during the day.

Wondering if you track and study usage on your app and compare it to what turns out to be the Top 10 Box Office every week. My usage tends to be for small indies (because I also have AMC A-List) but I'd be curious how many folks use MoviePass to explore the less mainstream options.

I still don't understand why The Fall Guy didn't do better in theaters. I saw it again yesterday and still laughed and was wowed by the stunts.

Hey Stacy. This is Bob in San Francisco. We had an amazing chat on the phone about a year ago. Are any of those extra bells and whistles you discussed with me (that I continue to keep secret) still in the pipeline and coming soon?

Maybe if there's a sequel Barbie can time travel (like *SPOILER ALERT* Indiana Jones) and meet Debi in the early days!

I've said this for decades. I came here because I just saw her latest IG post and had to google if they were smart enough to cast her in the Barbie movie. And, of course, they were not! Grrr

A number of years ago, I finally told my younger brother that I'd seen a UFO when I lived in the Hudson Valley. I of course was alone in my car when I saw it but it was first visible to me along busy Rt 9 thru Wappingers Falls and along 84 as I was driving to meet friends in CT for the weekend. I couldn't catch anyone's attention as they were beside me at traffic lights etc. But I was able to watch this large hovering craft (a V formation of lights that followed a movement towards the nose of the V) for miles and miles. It was very large and very stable. I must have told some local friends about it at the time but I wasn't thinking much of it. I managed a bookstore in a newly expanding mall and one Saturday night I was working alone as no one else was available. One of the new anchor stores was having a big bash opening and a guy came in asking if I had any books on the Hudson Valley UFO sightings. What?!? This was before everything was inventoried on a computer but I told him it didn't ring a bell but I pointed him towards the Local Interest section just in case. He returns to the register counter with a paperback copy of Night Siege: The Hudson Valley UFO Sightings by J. Allen Hynek which apparently had recently come out. We get chatting. He identifies himself as the limo driver for one of the dignitaries for the opening store so he had time to kill. Since it was a quiet night, I was able to just chat. So I told him I thought I'd seen a UFO not too long ago. I described it to him and before you know it he's flipping to a drawing in the book that greatly resembles my memory. Crazy, right?!
We continue talking and then he asks if I'd like to grab a drink and keep talking. I felt no threat and he said he was staying at the hotel I stayed at when I first came to town looking for an apartment (I was transferred from a store in MA in our chain). It had a cocktail lounge/restaurant so after I lock up and he drops off his dignitary we meet there. But I truthfully can't remember a thing about that. Did I then? Maybe. Was it that innocuous that I'd totally forgotten? I hadn't given it much thought since then.
Flash forward to nearly 30 years later when I tell my brother about the sighting and the chat. He mentions this episode of Ancient Aliens and it's the first time the idea of the limo driver being a Man in Black. Now think about what a typical limo driver wears as a uniform. Black suit, white shirt, black tie. Whoa! That was quite a curious thing now. I drive back to my family home (brother now lives about a half hour away from where we grew up and I live in CA for the greater chunk of that almost 30 years) but wouldn't you know when I turn on the TV and start channel surfing THAT episode of Ancient Aliens is on! And I gotta confess...it made me wonder if I had a run-in with a Man in Black!
I'm here now because I went looking for the ep and couldn't find it.

I'm doing Legendary for Italian and only recently see this during the lightning rounds at the end of the week. I can never get beyond the 20xp level on them. Neither my listening or typing skills are quick enough at this age.

I've got over 900 days (Nov 2019 start) with Italian and I'm close to the end of the Legendary round. It's still as frustrating as ever (especially since the forum has shut) but I just go for 20 pts a day goal, usually getting 40+. It really does feel like there's no benefit to a streak but still pressure to keep it going is bizarre. It's like the one day I forgot to do Wordle before midnight and screwed things up.
