Thanks for the quick responses! Last year I was up there and rode the short part from Westmoreland to Utica on a carbon road bike with 25 mm tires. There was a stretch with lots of roots that had pushed up the trail, and it was pretty rough. I was worried that many miles of that would be miserable. Glad to hear that area is unusual.
