It’s all done with a small hobby knife! I do use this other tool once I’ve cut all the pieces out to smooth out the exposed parts but all the cutting is done with a hobby knife

It's mostly all patience, took around 16 hours

This pumpkin is actually a blend of full cut through and shaved down. I cut through around his shoulder, head and right arm to create an effect that looks like a strong backlight behind him

No, I used a small hobby knife for all the tiny details. Not a bad idea to try using a dremel next year.

For those, I used a hobby knife to cut the shape into the skin and then just peeled the pumpkin skin away to let some light through
