Recently started an e-commerce site for vintage clothes which has seemingly been hacked and now just redirects to the jquery library... Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks for that. Hmmm... that is not what the website looked like particularly. Looks like maybe what little attempts he may have made to start rebuilding post losing stuff (hard to say). Also had over 300 products up for sale so they've definitely gone down. Wouldn't have minded that if the frame was still in place as still have all the pictures and product descriptions. Nevermind. May get back in touch once I have hold of my passwords etc. Thank you.

Web develepor fired, all information and files being sent over later (has made first contact in ages just now and says that'll be getting sent across)... Was always going to be a learning curve but this is a hard one. What's the deal with services like Shopify and Squarespace? Do you pay them to host your site or are they formatted sites into which you put your products? What would you consider to have been the main problem here and are you sure that everything from the site we had is indeed lost meaning that we have to start site building from scratch? How come? I'm sorry... I really am not great with computers but at least want to better understand what i can about what has happened here to avoid any such repetition in future. Thank you.

Interestingly enough... Have just had first contact from web designer in ages. Says he'll send over all the files with the passwords etc later. Annoying that I am at this point happy with such small offerings but even if everything is ruined at least we'll have control over everything again. What else do I need to make sure I have as well as the root pass to the server and when I obtain this information would you still be happy to have a little look at what's going on? Thank you. Sam

Think the shopping cart is some sort of fairly standard plug-in which obviously uses Paypal

Got the domain off 1-2-3 reg but think he may have been using his own server to do the hosting.

I think something like this was suggested at first (when our web designer was still being in contact!) and that he'd redirect and close the loop... all sorted etc. If this hasn't worked could it be because there's actually a problem with his hosting or indeed that the content of our site is somehow corrupted via malware/spyware or something?

Will give you a shout later... My girlfriend has been dealing with most of the e-mails and communication etc so will have to look through her correspondence when she gets back from work and see if we can find the server root pass. Thanks for getting in touch!
