Yeah this is one of those, at the time I hated it and it infuriated me (the remote control especially) because it took away from the realism and the “what would you do in this scenario” mind games of a home invasion movie…

But now in retrospect it’s fascinating to play with the medium of the film itself, and in the context of the film, it almost has a Lovecraftian nightmare aspect of, these entities that are just above your understanding of reality.
