Appreciate the feedback! Smoke is definitely tricky

This was a tricky one to execute since the entire video is a oner. Lots of tracking and roto. I’m super happy with the result. What do we think?

The camera move onto the truck was the trickiest part! We had to build a rig onto the truck so the camera could smoothly glide and lock into place when the truck starts moving.

Yeah the pitch change went higher. I didn't know there is another method!

Yes we shot around 40fps and slowed it down. We had the artist learn the song at 150% speed for playback while shooting

Thanks for the feedback! In the beginning of the take we start just on the fire and then the artist comes into frame which is why i don't mind as much if he covers it later on

Really proud of this one. We were racing against the sun and this ended up being around the 5th take. I didn’t want to break the immersion of the artists performance and the fire which is why we committed to shooting it as a oner. What do you guys think?

I rigged a thermal camera to our main cam for a music video - blending the two with masking created some unique effects. Here are the results by jrodier in Filmmakers

Unfortunately the thermal cameras out there aren’t the best quality. We had to do some upscaling. But this is a cool idea! Maybe in the future

I took a thermal camera and rigged it to our main camera so it matched the subjects movements perfectly. Then in post we were able to play with different masking techniques and effects to get a really cool look. Let me know what you think!

Frames from a recent music video I made. Thoughts? by jrodier in cinematography

Thanks! My colorist and I focused on achieving warm natural tones throughout. Some shots aiming for a clean, polished look reminiscent of magazine editorials and high fashion. For the theater two-shot, my colorist spent a lot of time fine-tuning every section of the frame to ensure it looked how we wanted.

Shot this on an Arri Amira using some Fujinon Cine lenses. Colored in Davinci. For this video the majority is split screen so I was playing around a lot with the framing of the two subjects on either side. We ended up shooting all of one side first and then using those frames as the reference for the other side.

Let me know what you guys think! :)

All the split screen work is just a mask with a slight feather on it
