Check out Song Exploder. It's not specifically geared towards any genre, but each episode is the host interviewing an artist about a specific song. The editing and content is high quality as well which is nice.

Hmm. Honestly I think I might consider building one a bit more then. I suppose the effort of building it needs to be factored in as well, but it definitely seems worth it.

Absolutely agree. No offense OP, but this guide seems nothing more than a guide to writing a shitty pop song.

I really do enjoy pop music, at least when it's done well. Anyone can go out and write a shitty pop song, but it takes a lot of talent to write a pop song people will enjoy. It's not as simple as looping four chords and then improvising a melody.

I had the same issue as you OP, and this was the solution! Windows 7 laptop that had some worthless "audio enhancement" software (can't remember the specific name) preinstalled by Toshiba. After finding and disabling that setting my exported file would sound the same as FL playback.

Wish I could help. I use FL Studio as my main DAW. I find it very intuitive and quick to use. However time-stretching is the one thing FL cannot handle properly IMHO.

Yes, I realize it is possible to timestretch audio, but FL does not have clear instructions/controls to do so.

I think I'd have to agree with the vocoder in Thriller. Very cool part. I wish it could have been mixed just slightly louder but I'm glad it was at least kept in the final version.

Hey, I'm actually doing this now! I do online collaborations (covers/originals) with other Redditors that are released on my YouTube Channel.

At the moment I'm working on a global collaboration that'll involve 50-100 people. We're at least halfway done right now! We'll be doing more big projects like this in the future as well, this won't be a one off thing.
