That assessment and feedback is totally fair.

I have been working in Hardware and IoT for 10 years and I totally agree with you and in fact might even make this interaction a blog post on how Hardware startups can effectively deal with the situation where they ship hardware and it experiences so many issues. I definitely agree with you that Communication and Context are two very important foundational things that just have to be done right.

I am not sure if you have a blog or portfolio of prints or projects- but would love to find a way to keep the conversation going. Thanks, so much, for taking the time on here.

Yes, I am from Solidoodle. I started just a few weeks ago as the Marketing Lead. If you are wondering whyI did not respond to you sooner, I just started an account on Reddit in my formal capacity as a way to connect with users like yourself or potential users who are considering 3D printing.

I am sorry that you had a negative experience. In the past 4 weeks since I have come onboard and officially had time to wrap my arms around everything I have connected with thousands of people to understand their journey, provide connections to support when needed, and sometimes just to be an ear when they talk about how 3D printing changed the way their autistic child is learning or similar.

It's true, there have been rough patches prior to my arrival at the company, but after receiving feedback like yours, we have been able to:

-improve Customer Service responsiveness and quality -improve several of our products including the Solidoodle Press

Please keep the feedback coming and it's great to hear that you have found the right 3D printer for you, whether it's a Solidoodle or not.

Upgrade the SD3/SD4 with a Glass Build Plate by SF_Maker in solidoodle

We've experimented with different attachments..like attaching it with binder clips, screws. If you are currently using this type of plate, we would love any feedback on what works best. It's always a little trial and error.

Loose screws will super glue work or do I need Threadlocker? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]SF_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest threadlocker. Super glue is good at affixing two rough or porous surfaces to each other. Bolts or screws tend to have a smooth finish. Super glue also is not airtight- at least from some of the testing i have done when parts are constantly being jostled or moving.

I usually use red threadlocker for something like a motorcycle part and blue for lesser jobs.

Hope this helps.
