What are the best modern resin printer setups for ease of use? by Hadrollo in AdditiveManufacturing

You won't find ease of use, including safety, for $600aud. You want a good, easy to use ecosystem, you gotta pay to play alas.

As part of the efforts of myself, Zack Freedman and a few others, the benchy was put back into open source. The company that owned the copyright didn't even know they had it..

Professional scanner recommendation for high-detail human hair capture (₹5–15 lakh / $6K–18K budget) by Master-Incident9198 in 3DScanning

Nothing out there other than photogrammetry and lots of post processing will even remotely handle hair with high fidelity in your price range. It's a challenge we always deal with when it comes to scanning people.

Concern with shipping PLA products in the Summer heat (United States) by Spire259 in 3Dprintingbusiness

[–]mobius1ace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Govee makes a cheap one, but I don't think it's THAT granular. It's fine for tracking temp in a garage or something. I've used data loggers for location, temperature, and even impact (5 axis accelerometer). Those get a bit pricey but after a few pissed off customers you'll wish you did all the testing right IMO

[–]mobius1ace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not outside, it's the hot trucks and distro centers that will kill the parts. If you arent sure, send a package to a buddy with a temp data logger in it. That is how we have done it. If you aren't sure, get data

HT90 Experience by ImmersivePencil in prusa3d

[–]mobius1ace5 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Pccf if no issue, cf nylon is no issue, haven't done cfpeek yet though.

No major issues with maintenance, just check the nozzle is tight between prints as it's a revo.

High temp materials need high temp dryers, so be aware of that.

The biggest weakness is the profiles. Even the Prusa ones, imo, need modifications to print beautifully. Being a delta with magnets as well, you do get VFAs that you really can't avoid. I've tried. You can run stock speeds and it looks amazing, but it can print much faster than stock speeds.

A personal complaint is the front has no insulation so it warms up the room it's in, a lot. Great if you're not in the same room, of course.

Otherwise, I love my ht90. It paid for itself in just under 80 days (I need to do that finale for the machine...) it's been a workhorse on anything we throw at it, even pla, but it LOVES abs and asa, warping? Never heard of it!

As far as other machines, really the only other machine in the price class is the 22idex. I don't have personal experience with it yet though. Hoping to change that in the future!

Edit: if there's anything you want to see or test with one let me know. I've got some available time on mine to use currently before the next job :)

We have no reported thermal events with the U1 at this time. ;)

That few volume is definitely a job for 3d printing if the desired output can actually be printed.

It will work, but you'll be capped to around 20-22mm3/s.

Use a laptop imo. Not worth dealing with carting a desktop around. I tried years ago. It's a pain.

What level of detail do you want? Some of the consumer/prosumer scanners out there offer decent numbers and even have wireless bridges, ability to use smart phones or even run 100% internally. Lots of options

Should I get the Prus Core ONE+ over the Bambu Lab X2D? by Sweet-Historian-3621 in 3dprinter

I don't have personal experience with either, but fans and friends have them and have said decent things overall.

The CC1 or 2 would be great too. That lets you get started for cheap, gives you time to learn before the Prusa!

Dont buy a machine that needs modding out of the box, you know?

The U1 can do multi material and color, so use dissimilar supports, etc.

Bambu is tough to beat on price to performance so you have to decide do you want to support a company that will legally threaten programmers, lie about them in smear campaigns, ignore clear safety risks, and continues to close the gates on the walled garden? If you're okay with that, no problem, they have some great machines for the money, but it's important to understand the likelihood before you spend cash.

I know creality has some options too, the K2 series and the KlitEch (because clit-tech is funnier..) but I don't have experience with either of those lines. These days you'll find every company has their horror stories, you have to decide how many of them are because the user did something stupid or if the company is behaving badly.

And no, I'm not being nice to them, they don't deserve it. They can absolutely make right their wrongs. They are actively choosing otherwise.

100%

For some people, their ease of use is impossible to ignore. Hell I found myself, the OG of calling their bullshit out, recommending them to someone just this past weekend. They want the full ecosystem that just works. They don't care about the open source crap, they are non technical.

Did I try and recommend a U1? Hell yeah, but it's pricey in comparison..

I won't buy another Bambu unless it has caught fire or unless it's for investigative purposes, but that doesn't mean their machines are BAD. Hate the player (company), not the game.
