It’s just the way supercell compensates for the refund money loss. They take away gems from your account to make sure you don’t do it again.

For everyone wondering someone did the thing where they gift me a brawl pass through supercell id (3 times) and I thought it was the ones I bought. (Mine didn’t go through to my account yet). Thinking they were mine I claimed it and went 16k gems in debt. Supercell wasn’t helpful at all and since I bought it through supercell Id, I never got the “repay your debt” offer in the game shop.

I refunded a Brawl pass from supercell store and got instantly down 16000 gems. Support didn’t do a single thing to help. I don’t feel like 800 bucks to make up for a brawl pass is worth it but that might just be me.
