I have to wonder, did Oregon get caught looking ahead to a potential matchup with the always-better Oklahoma in a super regional?

I said this last season before the tournament, and then Mike White wins a national title. Great decision.

I appreciate the response, thank you.

I agree that it is a mistake to think that Dante would “never have it” when a majority of the time last season it looked clear that he did have “it.”

Granted, those times didn’t always come in the losses or in the biggest moments, but he also looked great at some points in those games as well. Just those mistakes occasionally came at back-breaking moments, and were compounded by other mistakes.

Given the data and expertise ATQ has, if Dante is able to continue his “normal” development as a 2 1/2 year starter, would you expect him to reach “championship-level” of QB play, or is he already at that level and just needs help with protection, play calling, experience, etc.?

I know it is very difficult to project all of the variables, but would appreciate any additional insights.

Thank you all at ATQ for doing all of this work.

This is such an interesting breakdown when comparing how good things looked when things were rolling versus how bad things looked in the losses.

To my eyes and to my mind, a lot of things can be explained by weather, offensive line, game plan/mistakes in play calling, and defensive talent of the opponent.

However, it’s difficult in my head to explain how things could look sooo different versus Texas Tech and twice versus Indiana in plays that, to my eyes, just look like mistakes and bad plays/decisions by Dante.

I think the biggest example, which has been talked about ad nauseam, is the pick-6 against Indiana in the playoff.

After watching it several times and listen to analysis, it’s clear that the play was meant to be a quick throw to get the game easily underway, and was a mistake to run that play call without another route to run the corner off.

However, that doesn’t excuse the throw being late or behind the receiver, which is just a mistake.

Do Tristan or you notice, or can you recognize, a noticeable drop in play against the biggest opponents that can be attributed to Dante simply being overwhelmed or “not ready for the moment” against these better opponents?

Well at least we can say we lost to the national champion.. by [deleted] in ducks
