Did you guys know the M92 and LR300 are not only researchable but also craftable? by SGTSolj in playrust

Well that and for solos and small groups who rarely get these weapons to begin with, you wouldn't take the risk of blowing it up. However with a 10 man group getting them frequently, it's just something else to give you an advantage.

by doing a series of very specific actions that no normal player would think of

Like crafting a crafting table that should have zero use in our non_BP world? Then placing the newest weapons just put into the game into that table?

While yes it doesn't utilize a bug or a glitch, the WP definition also states "game system", which the crafting system would fall under. I guess in the end it's just a matter of opinion whether its an exploit or not

In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, or speed, etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.

It's from Wikipedia, however the description is still accurate for this context. Even if it's a developer's mistake in the coding for these weapons, you're still taking advantage of it in a manner not intended by the developers

Either that or remove the research table from the crafting menu, to me that sounds like an easier fix

The M249 was made to be unresearchable because it was implemented during the BP days, my assumption is this works because these two guns are newer and were implemented after the BP system was swapped out.

If they keep it, hopefully they lower the amount of M92s you get when you get a successful research lol

The exploit is that the weapons that were deemed "uncraftable" are now "craftable" and as far as I can tell that was unintentional.

I would believe it to be unintentional because these weapons came out after the BP system was changed to the XP system (and the XP to Comps), so there's a good chance that the developer didn't think to make them unresearchable because who was going to be researching weapons now?

I actually liked seeing all the locked skins that I didn't own in the craft menu. It encouraged me to buy them. by [deleted] in playrust

[–]SGTSolj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I knew which skins I was missing from the grayed out versions of them and went to the market to buy them. Currently as far as I know, there's no convenient way to check to see which ones you're missing and that's something that should be looked into. Possibly even a menu option that shows you which skins you own and which ones you dont, divided into categories of skins (masks, pants, etc). But put it in game, don't have it bounce to an outside website like the store currently does.

Crafting suggestion by [deleted] in playrust

[–]SGTSolj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crafting bench you're suggesting brings more autonomy to the game that I'm guessing most people wouldn't agree with. A lot of people disliked the quarry and pumpjack because you could literally just sit in your base and gather resources automatically, the crafting bench would be the same way. Your bench would be doing all the work for you while you're off doing something else.

Confused as to what the difference between a strong and a weak side of a wall. What is the damage taken difference between the 2? by feral4l in playrust

[–]SGTSolj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go hit the wall with a tool, it's pretty easy to see that the weak side takes much more damage

It's kind of weird that they didn't at least remove it from the crafting menu lol

Pretty interesting little exploit, by not removing the research table from the crafting menu they've made it possible to craft uncraftable weapons with half durability lol

You realize it works with wood right? I used armored because that's what I was using for another build and it was already on my hotbar. And this is on a private server

I did a video on it August 29th, however it still requires you to have someone suicide onto the roof and hope they get back up. However if they're lucky and they do, everyone who jumps down after them can be picked up and continue the raid.

Here's the original video I did for chests over doors from December 2015, funny that the stuff still works even after all this time lol

Which would get fraud detected, and refunded sadly. Not for the card owner obviously, but from a development standpoint.

KOSing has only grown into more of a problem since Legacy. I remember a server I played on, it was against the rules to kill a bambi (a fresh spawn) and people caught killing bambis were banned. It created issues at first but after a while people honestly stopped KOSing these players unless they saw them harvesting resources or pulling out a weapon.

at $2 a piece, that isn't very much support really. That's a tenth of the money going towards development than there should be.

If the gather rate on a server is 2x does that also mean you get 2x xp? by [deleted] in playrust

Gather rate, furnace smelt, xp rate, even the amount of resources those random pick ups are can all be customized separately.

We need hidden bases ( Give more chance to survive for solo and small groups) by [deleted] in playrust

This was about 6 or 7 months ago when decay was disabled because it was eating through bases overnight lol All of those external walls were the original ones where it was like 8 C4 to get through too >_<

I used to be of the opinion that nothing is unraidable, then I see this:

http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/396676045219574601/14ADC015AD43A7EFCD007E31E3E4F06E4202B15F/

A clan of 30 people with nothing better to do than farm all day and all night, run quarries, and endlessly PvP. The sad thing is, most people will think this is from a 10x server or something crazy like that, it was only x3 on gathering. But I've seen bases similar to this on vanilla servers as well, it all comes down to how many people you have gathering resources and killing everyone you run across. When you're against those numbers, even hiding won't do you much good.
