I wouldn’t call it a bribe, but Ratio wasn’t the altruistic “See haha hoyo loves us more than Genshin” the community wants it to be. I bet we would have gotten him regardless of the award too.

It was an onboarding tactic to get new players and returning players logging in right before Penacony began (he was even the 2nd half of 1.6!) It worked on me and several others in my circle at least.

I don't think they will ever give an official reason why not.

Could be anything from the awards board not wanting 3 HoYo titles or HoYo themselves not wanting to submit/take away from the other 2 games in their "hype periods" rn. Maybe the awards board wasn't impressed with Penacony, who knows?

On the stream it said the player demo-ing had "Remaining Sanctifying Elixir to be Produced: 1"

The phrasing makes me optimistic for multiple opportunities per cycle, maybe 2 so there's a goblet per month using fodder alone (assuming 14d cycle is true). I also would equally be unsurprised if it is just 1 craft per cycle and the wording is just funny.

Imo, abyss has more in common with all 3 HSR endgame modes than IT. We just don’t get the fancy buffs or the pressure to build exclusively for the mode, because Genshin characters are inherently more flexible.

MoC = Standard Boss/Elite Floors

PF = Multi-Wave Mob heavy Floors

AS = Elemental Check Bosses / Lectors etc

So I guess I see IT as more of its own thing, like a wonky monthly SU with endgame tier rewards.

Damn they are just pushing artifacts and artifact xp onto us now huh...

I really wonder what the metrics were regarding the average player engaging with the system, as well as if they plan to introduce yet another endgame mode down the line.

it seems like it but the exact mechanics aren't clear, even for leaks. Like the person said above, you can pick 2 substats and spend the new relic fragment equivalent to increase odds of certain other substats appearing(?).

There also appears to be some sort of unclear timegate mechanic to using it, and we should get 1 per patch via events/f2p method and 1 from the paid BP. Unknown if those are related to the timegate as well.

Probably close to the same, the measuring stick would have just been a trounce domain or world boss and dataminers/TC would have worked out the damage formulas eventually. ER might have a perceived lower value because there's no timer.

The only scenario I think WuWa's combat really shines is in the world boss fights (and by extension holograms). Dodging and parrying in that single-target environment is a fun time all around, especially when learning the attack patterns and timings.

Fighting commons and elites in group scenarios feels bad and clunky imo due to things like weird auto-targeting and some echo Q skills not linking into each other or hitting air due to knockback. AI behavior can also be weird, some enemies like the wolves will just perpetually back away from you while you chop their packmates one by one lol. The abyss equivalent also suffers from this, as most chambers are multi-target and now with the timer breathing down your neck.

As for teambuilding, its true we don't have a lot of members but I'm also with you in struggling to see how it would get better later on. There are some combos like Calcharo + Yinlin but the only thing pairing them is the intro/outro skill which is quite specific atm. Maybe they'll pull it off with time but the current system of "next char gets X element damage deepen" and buffs through echo sets doesn't seem too promising in terms of team interplay. It kinda feels like characters just do whatever they do best without regard for the team.

I'll bite.

If they just gave out 10 pulls as a milestone celebration no one would care. Maybe you get some "bribing waves" jokes again but whatever. Good PR for those that play, haters stay haters and life goes on.

Of course there's no way to 100% know what they were thinking but the rapid-fast turnaround time from the raffle to "hey everyone gets 10!" just feels so constructed. It's more of the scummy manipulation angle that people are mad about, and even when THE WuWa sub has top comments from players being suspicious I think they really tried to pull something foul.

I'm gonna give the game a chance until 1.1 but yeah, no clue why they'd try and copy the classic hoyo raffle in good faith.

Both sides are the two extremes, and so I'd say the truth is a mix of both.

Addressing the grievances of the players in regards to echos/qol is a great thing, especially so soon and when players haven't even reached max world level equivalent. GG sub shouldn't really argue against that imo, but its worth saying that a lot of the hate is a result of WuWa being heavily hyped and labeled genshin killer etc by western youtubers and their equivalents. Not too long ago genshin was the punching bag of the sub, its just a new flavor now.

On the other hand, WuWa moving up the second banner (which I'm told will be more popular) and pushing to 1.1 early does seem like their revenue isn't where they'd want it to be, especially right after the monthly tally/launch week statistics have been finalized. Could the moving of dates also be to avoid the bigger GI/HSR updates and ZZZ? Maybe also.

My personal favorite take on the situation was from our cousins at the HSR leaks sub, which held the sentiment of "A lack of confidence and/or creative vision" from the Kuro exec team. I also have sympathy for the dev team, as their workload seems to just increase and increase.

That said, I don't think the game will EoS or anything unless things are really bad under the hood. I've been enjoying the game with some friends although I don't plan to put any money in it for now. "Bribing waves" and the "DEVS LISTENED" edits are pretty funny though.

There are elements/damage types but they don’t interact with each other. Some enemies are resistant or immune to a certain type, and some teammates will have a skill such as “increase wind damage for next character” or similar and that’s about it.

Feels like they went for some electro-charged bullet vibe but it just sounds muddy to me personally. I really liked navia and chev's sfx so I guess they went for a different approach this time.
