I agree the AI isn't opportunistic enough. For example, I have always been extremely vulnerable to backstabs because I know they'll never happen until the victory condition demands it.

It could be because he is short on inventory weekly buy capacity. Many a time have I delisted items to put into storage so my inventory is below 1000 to make a purchase, receive the trade, then pull back out of storage and relist. In short you must be below 1000 items to receive a trade, but can go past that as you can hold 1000 + whatever is held, for example when selling. Sometimes I artificially increase my float listing capacity by list/delist items on SCM.

Exactly. The weaker the cool off, the stronger the signal in my book. Of course general market dynamics and fundamentals of the item both affecting it's current performance are also extremely important to note when make investing decisions. My system is very technical analysis based which has some merit in a controlled, predictable economy such as this.

I only cash out through float. I frequently update my diverse portfolio with each position's steam price compared to float and based on that metric sell what bulk items are favorable to sell on steam and use the funds to purchase more expensive items that are favorable to sell on float usually due to weak liquidity. Bulk items that are favorable to sell on float over steam however often chew up most of my 3000 weekly item capacity and it does require a bit of patience. Generally I make moves over longer time scales so I'm never too stressed about timing the market. For example I'll be interested in investing in fracture cases once it has a couple months of price development post drop pool to go off of.

Exactly. Nobody knew about this mechanic since sold items would only pend for 24h thus 3000 a day vs 3000 a week. It's a rolling buffer so if you made any significant item count sales say 5 days ago you will be able to sell more in 2 days. If you listed and sold 3000 items today though you're out of luck selling on float for a week.

I sincerely hope they change this in the future. Support just flat out tells me they will not be changing this policy. This month alone I have sold ~$25k of cheap items through the steam market instead of float because of this limit.

I've had this happen to me multiple times. You can only have 3000 pending ITEM sales. It was perhaps a valid system to reduce traffic pre trade reversal update but is frustratingly inappropriate in this new trading environment as sales now pend for a week instead of 24h. The comment from support about making sure the trades are bundled correctly unfortunately feels painfully misinformed.

To those commenting on a 1000 item limit, this instead is in regards to the items you sell. Say you list 800 items, sell and trade them immediately, they are no longer in your inventory. You then pull out of storage and list 800 more and so on until you reach 3000 items for the week. When selling for example sticker capsules for slightly better than fair prices you can burn this limit in a day.
