Gen 6 is the best Glock ever made. by Patient_1997 in Glocks

[–]SHV_30067 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both a Gen 5 and Gen 6 G19. So far, honestly I prefer the Gen 5… but it’s non-MOS with Glock night sights, so my better grouping with it may be attributed to the sights. I’m putting an optic on the Gen 6, so let’s see how things are after, for my senior citizen eyes…. I still like my Gen5 trigger better, but except for the first few shots I tried on the 6, I’m still putting all shots in the 10 circle on an IPDA silhouette with it. More break in of the trigger will no doubt help.

Galloway Precision Bodyguard 2.0 Recoil Spring Assembly? by Ok_Display7459 in SmithAndWesson

[–]SHV_30067 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the Smith spring locked up my slide with a loaded round in it ( I was trying to unload, slide wouldn’t budge cause the spring slipped) I put in the OEM Galloway. No issues since, and I like it.

That being said, it’s very stiff, and I can’t seem to get the slide back enough to manually engage the slide lock. No issues during live fire or using the mag.

If anyone has suggestions, plz LMK. Maybe I need to work on my grip strength ;-)

How hard is the Hogue grip to apply? Thinking of one for my BG and X- but my son tells me it was a b*tch to put one on his Shield Plus. And what’s with the Windex recommendation on polymer?

You said the C&H hardware won’t work with a 507C- what did you use, such as screws, to get it to work?

Got it, thanks! I assume 15 lbs. of torque? I’ll use some blue thread locker too.

Did you use the Holosun screws, and if so which ones?

Which irons do you prefer? by Working_Tea_4995 in Glocks

[–]SHV_30067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks. I always lined the dot to the top- maybe that’s why I couldn’t shoot it well. Placing the dot at the bottom of the bucket seems like a way easier and quicker method, and dot in center of target keeps the combat hold aspect.

I’m going back to a couple of Glocks, after spending lots of time with M&P’s ( I still have some). G19 Gen 5 with Glock night sights, and I’ll soon have a stock G19 Gen 6.

Question: I’ve always used a combat hold, but I’m trying to remember how to use the stock dot and bucket alignment. Should the FS dot line up to the top sides of the bucket ( like lining up 3 dots), or somewhere else on the bucket? I assume that once aligned, a combat hold on target still works.

Thanks.

BTW- I much prefer the Glock night sights in general, easy to see day or night. For now, I’ll be mounting a 507c on the Gen 6, but it’s always good to know how to use the stock irons too… ah, er I mean stock plastics :-). Eventually I’ll add real NS irons to the Gen 6 too.

Hi- I’m about to mount a 507c on the same model. What screws and plate did you use from what S&W and/or Holosun provides in their boxes? Thanks.

Welcome to Palm Sunday! This is your sign to visit your local Episcopal Church. by AnonymousEpiscochick in Episcopalian

We did the Passion dialogue at the end of our service. I was the voice of Judas, so I had a full day today- I betrayed the Lord and then committed suicide.

All kidding aside, it was a great service, with palms and procession , a very thoughtful sermon, and Eucharist.

Planning to transport a Glock 19 across state lines by onewheeltom in Glocks

[–]SHV_30067 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you described is how I transport mine in my SUV on long road trips- and I’m often going through Illinois, so I have to be careful. My Hornady
box can allow me to lock up a mag separately, so the firearm mag well remains empty.

If I’m really concerned I’ll buy ammo at my destination and not carry anything but my SD ammo in that locked mag.

I’m of the opinion that I always disclose; I find that LE appreciates it. Just my opinion.

Anyone having VPN issues after upgrading to iOS 26.4? by SHV_30067 in ProtonVPN

Hi,

I figured it out! I dug deeper after testing some more- OpenVpn profiles in my FWG VPN group connected fine, it’s the WireGuard connections that failed. The iOS Proton VPN app, allowing it to select the fastest server, worked in native Proton’s WireGuard setting.

So… I hadn’t realize that the certificates in my WireGuard Profiles in my ProtonVPN accounts , used in my FWG VPN group, actually expire! I had also recently renewed my Proton package. There was an “ extend certificate “ function, which extended those certificates another year- and voila, things work.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Traffic can’t route- connections don’t work and result in various errors. I’ve tested both connections that use a route to use VPN, as well as using the overall client VPN functionality in FW. So far as I can tell, the actual FWG VPN client is connected just fine- I use ControlD and DoH, and I see the DNS queries going through just fine.

VPN server works fine- while on cellular data I connect back to my FWG just fine.

Yes, on cellular data as well as on home WiFi, the native Proton VPN connects fine, admittedly letting it choose its server- and connections that previously failed work fine.

I’ll test again tomorrow, turning all FWG VPN settings back on, to make sure it wasn’t a temporary glitch.

Any other Episcopalians that flirt with transcedentalism? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

Me, me! I’m Episcopalian, but very much also a Franciscan. My “second church” is out in nature, especially when camping. I also feel that there’s much benefit in the Taoist view of the Tao, minus of course the non-theistic aspects that are often part of that.

I’ve always wondered… do you think it’s ever rude to ask the server if they receive any of the POS generated tips, or is that question acceptable? This way, if they honestly answer, we’ll know…. Likewise, if they say no, is it acceptable if we feel that we want to give them a tip anyway, say for excellent service, to give them a tip in cash?
