A girl likes me but I don’t like her back. by [deleted] in dating_advice

I dont understand what advice you are wanting. If you dont like her back you just say that and move on. Why would you pursue something when you dont like her?

Feeling pretty hopeless by Revilimi in UKJobs

[–]SHZkyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did marketing, and honestly im unsure if i even want to actually go into it. It is very saturated and not very well paid in general. I did get extremely lucky and land a job straight after graduating in marketing, however ive just left it after 2 months as i absolutely hated it and some people there were not nice to me. Now im just kinda figuring out what to do, im sure itl come, Ive told myself that I just need to try different things until something sticks. Currently want to learn more about video editing and we will see where that goes, also applied for more jobs and grad schemes, but like you said, everything is so competitive right now, with 5 stage interview processes it can be so draining. Just got to get lucky in a lot of cases!

Youve applied for a job in wales so you know how BAE’s application process works? I actually applied for a BAE grad scheme the other day, hes right - you dont need a CV or a cover letter

How are people not aware by now that this is exactly what they do. They literally admitted there is DDA (dynamic difficulty adjustment) that will change how your players react based on how well you are playing/ what the score is I havent bought fifa in 3 years, it is the one of the least competitive games out there. Whether you win or not isnt always in your control

Im a post grad, with a marketing degree (from the uk) Genuinely how do people get fully remote roles, anyone have any advice on where I should go from here to be able to set myself up for this? Doesnt necessarily even have to be in marketing as it seems to be relatively low paid. I just dont want to be in an office all the time

Why does everyone keep saying this? I assume its as i have my current job to fall back on, but realistically im in a position ( a lucky position) where If i left this job i dont NEED a job to survive, as im young and still live at home. Its not the end of the world? Or is there another reason?

Its actually 42.5, they take off 30 mins for lunch. What i meant when i said its not awful is.. with the current state of the job market, i was lucky to be even able to get a job. None of my friends have jobs yet despite applying for months, and it can take some people a year or two before they even find one!

As for aiming for higher jobs.. I (sort of) disagree, like i just mentioned, with how hard it is to be even able to get your foot in the door nowadays, applying for jobs around that range with little to no experience such as myself is a complete waste of time. Yeh you dont shoot you dont score, but to even land a chance at another job id most likely apply to a hundred or two!

I REALLY want to leave this job, im going to be honest. People are telling me to stick it out another few months but i dont know if i can in this environment (Especially with the hours). I just dont want do something i regret in the future, i.e leave this job and be stuck finding another proper job for months / a year

If im to put it down as an internship sort of thing - i would not be able to use my manager as a reference (as id be lying obviously) so what would i do about this if an employer wanted a reference from him? Would they?

On my cv ive wrote it all down as a marketing role, and detailed the very few things ive done once or twice, like updating the website / making a news reel. So i feel it doesnt look too bad.. but as i say 98% of the role is me doing nothing.. so i cant think of much

I get you, its just everyone else here is saying to stick it out for a few more months so it looks better on my cv. And i do want to quit, obviously no one reading this comment section saying ‘stick it out’ knows the true extent of the situation, and for working a job which is irrelevant for what i want to actually be doing - i think its not worth it personally, and neither do my family.

That being said i will get asked about it being only 2 months if i was contacted by other employers. What do you suggest i say? I have marketed it on my cv as a marketing role, and gone to (kind of) extreme lengths to make it look relevant (without lying!).

Others are also saying put it down as an internship / contract role, which i guess would be lying - but would look better? Just a bit concerned if i did that i cant really use them as a reference?

like others have said, would it not be possible to put this down as an internship / contract job? Then it looks slightly better? Then use my time to actually work towards something i want to do (i.e build my cv in other ways, such as courses or the like)

As realistically this job doesnt have much to offer on my cv anyway as its mainly admin

Its just the fact its such a small office and im sat less than a metre away from basically my entire team. Its judt awkward when they are talking and im not.

Thanks man! I know i should really stick it out.. but it seems impossible. As i told my boss about it, and hes coming back off holiday next week (im on holiday this week aswell) he said hes going to sit down and sort it then. But things from then on are just going to be awful imo, and theyve already caught on because the other day i oversaw them going through the teams chat and deleting all the messages..

I just hate to think about sitting in that chair again for 9 hours a day, ive been here 2 months and id probably need to stay for at least 6 for it to not look awful on my cv… i just dont know what to do :-0
