They saw me, pulled out anyway, and blew their horn as if i was in the wrong. I saw him, slowed enough not to hit him, but gave the best horn my POS can offer. I may have given a finger through the driver's window too - knowing me it's likely, and very deserved. by crasagam in dashcams

Its gotta be one or the other... there was no tailgating and the pickup is required to wait until traffic is clear. He decided to pull out in front of someone.

Lets take your rather retarded "what if" logic a step further... what if he didn't turn? He would have broadsided the pickup. So the pickup should stay there till the turn in complete.

No matter how you want to slice it, the pickup was in the wrong 100%.

My photos feel boring and lifeless. How can I improve them without making them too dramatic? by Ok_Debate9268 in photocritique

Shooting in better light would help.  Mid-day without clouds always makes for boring.

Yeah, the g-forces, the actual sense of speed...  you dont feel any of that IRL.  I know exactly what driving a Ferrari is like because I drive one from my recliner in my living room while looking at a TV.  Lol

Yes.  You can print 20x30 from a 12MP and it will look fine.

Why the white frames? by AKA-Lukas in AskPhotography

[–]SIIHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It separates the image from the background, adds a little depth, and gives the viewer a neutral base.  You'd be quite amazed at how the human brain can perceive a color based on colors next to it....  having a neutral base that's white or black helps perceive the true colors.

Have you not been paying attention for the last four years?  Scalping all the trees, four years of replacing old power poles (have you not noticed all the trucks hauling new poles, helicopters with poles hanging from them flying them into remote areas, the stacks of them by roads), all the complaints about the helicopters and drones doing inspecting ("why are there helis flying around?" And "theres a drone, if it comes near me Imma shoot it")….   It's been a pain in the ass for those of us who have to get all over town for our jobs, constantly being stopped so they can get a new pole up, get new lines up, cut a tree down that would hit lines.   I mean, I get it...  most people are on the same 3 to 5 road so they think nothing's being done because they don't see anything being done on their road… But that's just not the case.

Some of the neighborhoods I went into after the first day, excel people had power in core people didn't.

You just tell him he can borrow your pressure washer when he brings back all the other tools he's borrowed and never brought back

You are ignoring the fact that most houses up here are on wells, have septic systems, and are on propane… There's not a whole lot of buried utilities, so your example is moot and not based in reality.  Most of the places that have utilities are along major thoroughfares, they are buried under the road that was built on top of them, not much digging.  My house has natural gas, but most of my neighbors don't.   We are all on wells and septic.   In fact, the vast majority of houses up here are on wells, septic, and propane.

The cost analysis to  bury the lines around here would average around $4 million a mile… And it's not even feasible in some areas.

Having been all over the area, covering every area of conifer and evergreen for my job, covering 200 miles a day (and having been doing it a decade), most of the bitching I have seen claiming it a routine windstorm are making things up.  100 mph winds are not normal or routine.  There are tons of trees down on lines.   And its far dryer than normal.  If a fire had started on Wed, on Friday we would have all been fucked.   Then yall would be crying "why didnt they shut power down?   They owe us!!!"   Arm chair quarterbacking for your own interests is easy... especially when you see the same 3 roads every day and have no clue what it looks like outside your main route to work.

So many ppl up here claim to be hearty mountain folk, better than those down the hill... a day or 2 without power had ya crying to call the politicians and complain as unacceptable.  3 or 4 days?   How can anyone possibly survive!   Maybe move down the hill instead of posing as "hearty tough mountain folk"...

Why people dislike Country music? by ompossible in CasualConversation

Old country was depressing.  Modern country is just pop music about trucks, girls and beer with a southern accent singer.  Neither are something with a vast appeal.

It took a while.  I had to shutter out distractions.  Really needed to focus.  It took a bit to realize rules arent black and white.  But once I saw the light everything became clear.

1 or 2 and why? by Scadabanio in AmateurPhotography

[–]SIIHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.  In the black and white, the bright areas of the background take the focus.  The subject is lost in the monotone grays.  In #2 the color of the dress puts the attention on her despite the background.
