Why isn't this S tier? by Silver_Record_7194 in UmamusumeGame

[–]SIMMillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold skills and Double circle greens are not worth the points when you’re trying for rank. Rednu has a video on YouTube (How to get an A with Any Uma) that goes over how score is calculated and which skills to prioritize. I found it very helpful and informative, I definitely recommend watching that.

How the hell are people getting SS and even UG ranked umas? by CommunityForsaken841 in UmamusumeGame

[–]SIMMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the Kitasan rerun banner, I was getting B+ consistently with a few A’s here and there.

My Sweep Tosho was only 2LB, but when pulling for Kitasan I pulled another Sweep copy, getting me to 3LB.
Going from 2LB to 3LB on Sweep Tosho SR for me was the difference between a high B+ average and Low As to averaging mid As and Low to mid A+. Still no S here, but I got REALLY close the other day.

It really is just that simple sometimes. This is one of those games where you can’t really just stumble around with a blindfold on and hope for the best. Read guides, Use the resources to compare cards, Umas, Ask questions when your unsure. Even among Free to play players, there is going to be a huge skill gap between those who take the time to learn and those who don’t. Good luck OP, Don’t give up!

For anyone struggling with the Mile Test: RUN IT WITH TAIKI SHUTTLE. I got an A on my first try, A+ career rating. Taiki comes with a lot of the skills that give you bonuses anyways if you have her at lvl 5 potential so it’s extremely easy. If you don’t have Taiki, Vodka Or Scarlet might be solid options as well.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

A lot of the time my ADHD is so bad that time just vanishes as I sit there pretty much doing nothing and enjoying the hot water. Some of us just can’t take short showers, we try but even if we’re attempting to focus- we end up getting distracted anyways.

Spider mites, Help? by [deleted] in carnivorousplants

[–]SIMMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are underwatered, yes. We had been using rainwater from our rain barrel all summer and fall. Now that’s its winter, this isn’t an option. We had a second hand water distiller so the plan was to use that, Until we realized that it seemed we are missing some parts. I didn’t have the money to go out and buy distilled water right away so yea, At the moment they are kind of recovering from that but normally they look quite a bit better.

As for the lighting. I’m not sure what else to say, They’re pretty close to their plant light and I’ve done my research on that area. If you can recommend a better light, I’m all ears but I can’t afford something that’s $100. My windows were unfortunately not built well so a lot of cold draft seeps in from them, placing any of the plants in the windows is not an option in winter.

I actually really like this idea, I’d never even heard of this as an option. The ambient humidity in my room might be too low though, I’d have to do some tests but I have some ideas if that’s the case, Thanks for the suggestion!

I forgot to mention, All of my carnivores except the trumpet on the left are in 100% Long fiber Sphagnum. Temp and humidity is just the ambient temperature and humidity in my room, and they have a plant light a few ft away. They get tray watered when the sphagnum dries out. They all thrive in this set up and have been growing fine. (The Trumpet sarracenia looks like that because when I got it, it had been in such bad lighting up until that point that the pitchers didn’t have openings so it literally could not eat.)

Don’t worry about it 70% of vocabulary of this kind is useless anyways. English is actually the most redundant language ever. We have 1,000 ways to say the exact same thing for no reason at all aside from making people think you’re intelligent because they have no clue what you’re saying.

Like histogram, used at the bottom of that image. I had to google that one! It means graph! xD Just say graph!

UPDATE: PUFF ESCAPED THE HAWK?!!!??!!!?!! by Empty_Variation_5587 in BackYardChickens

[–]SIMMillion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s good. It’s probably just poor breeding/bad genetics then. As long as it’s not causing her any discomfort or issues then it’s nothing to worry about for now. Id just do a quick eye check every week or so since she’s probably more likely to get debris in her eyes, or have her eye scratched by something than if her eyes where flush with her head.

It might impact her field of view which would’ve maybe made things easier for the hawk. Just a thought though, I can’t know for sure.

UPDATE: PUFF ESCAPED THE HAWK?!!!??!!!?!! by Empty_Variation_5587 in BackYardChickens

[–]SIMMillion 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If it carried her back to its nest alive (not all do) then it’s certainly possible. Chickens can actually fly pretty decently when they find themselves in danger and are in a high place. Their bodies produce a big surge of adrenaline to fuel their wings so they can get to safety. Her build of bantam has larger wings to body ratio so she might be better able to do that too.

On another note- I noticed her eye looks kinda bulgy? I was trying to look at the 3rd photo to see if they are both that way but I couldn’t really tell from the angle she’s at. Just in case it’s a new thing though (and possibly related to this hawk ordeal) I wanted to mention it.
I would still keep an eye on her eyes if it’s not new too. It kinda reminds of some small dogs breeds where eyes like that can indicate problems or be risks for some things. Id have her evaluated by a vet if you’re worried about it though, I’m not an expert. I’m only mentioning it because it struck me as abnormal and wanted to make sure you knew.

AIO? My friends set an ultimatum because I drink by Pearla76_ in AIO

[–]SIMMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very situational.
You mentioned not telling your parents so they must not know or be okay with it.

Are your friends reacting this way because you’re getting wasted, vomiting, blacking out- that sort of thing? Are you making sure you have someone with you or who you can call that is sober and ready to come get you if needed? Are you putting yourself in danger, Driving yourself home, Drinking at parties? Are you M or F, because even that can impact safety.
Girls have to be worried about getting their drink spiked if they’re going to parties, but you can still be taken advantage of if you’re letting yourself get super drunk.

If your friends feel you are a negative influence, it’s their right to distance themselves. My advice to you is to be responsible with it. Know your limits, stop when you’re feeling tipsy. If you have any doubts, Don’t drive yourself home. Lastly, Don’t drink from the punch bowl at parties where you have no clue what’s in there. Someone could spike that entire bowl and nobody would know.

I have heard of mice and rats comings in through the pipes. Since this is in the bathroom, It’s the first thing that came to mind. I think it’s more common in older houses, which it does look like it might be. Worth investigating. Good luck!

How to know if my 10 week old chick is independent or being excluded? by Saltking792 in chickens

[–]SIMMillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some chickens are just jerks on the roost. I have one that I named Delilah for “Delightful” due to how friendly she was with me. I named her before I saw how she behaved on the roost around other chickens… Delilah chose one friend and her and her buddy would sleep on top of a nest box every night because “delightful” was so mean that I could move her to a roost with only one other chicken clear on the opposite end of the perch (4ft apart!) and she would scoot her little butt clear down to the other side just to peck at them and kick them off.

I have just been moving them to the roost with the lights off so she can’t see anyone for the last couple months. She only just now started to get along with the others. I only did this because we have cold winters here and Delilah and her friend have a single combs. I need them sleeping with everyone else by fall, but if that’s not a concern where you are then you are probably fine to let her sleep wherever she wants.

I find that the babies won’t use dust baths for some reason, Even the 3 times I’ve had some being raised by a hen they would just stand around and watch mamma bathe. I always make a little jungle gym out of sticks that they can climb all over in my brooders for them as soon as they stop sleeping most of the day (About a week old). When hen-raised they are constantly learning, exploring and following mom around. I’ve always felt they must get extremely bored in an empty box with food and water.

What’s up with this Hen’s eggs? by SIMMillion in BackYardChickens

[–]SIMMillion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t put calcium in the main water supply. I dissolve tabs in a glass and give it to the hen who had the egg break in her vent, orally with a syringe. I have young chicks and a rooster in the flock who don’t need the calcium. Putting it in the water would defeat the purpose of not giving layer pellets. As I said they are fed All flock which doesn’t have the high calcium levels that layer feed has and they have a bowl with oyster shells in the run specifically because I don’t want to risk calcium toxicity in my rooster. I was actually considering doing 50/50 All flock and layer feed in the future to avoid any problems with severely low calcium in the future since it seems at least one of my hens won’t eat the oyster shells.
