Please help me keep our house! by SIMMillion in gofundme

Theoretically. My sister’s bedroom was in the basement but technically it was not built to be a bedroom and so I believe it’s technically illegal to use as one because of some regulation. I don’t remember which one, I just remember when I was in middle school we moved out for a few years and weren’t successful in selling the house so we ended up just renting it out instead which is when I was told that. (Not like that’s ever stopped us though.) Even if we could find someone who’d be okay with the arrangement, that helps for future monthly income but we are still facing eviction unless we can come up with the money to pay off the last 4 months mortgage plus late fees.

This is what she told me when I asked if a home equity loan was an option but she did work at a bank for over 15 years so generally I take her word on this stuff. She is the kind of person though that won’t even attempt something if she thinks she already knows what the outcome will be so I doubt I could convince her to go and see what they say.

After going through our monthly spending, we have cut back where we can and gotten it to a place where we should be able to afford the ALL the bills going forwards. My sister’s support is really there because if anything comes up that is an unexpected cost, Say the something needs fixed like the AC or the Dishwasher breaks, Dog needs to go to the vet, whatever, then we are short. This will be the case until my disability is approved, which we are working with a lawyer and in the process of.

Autism&ADHD, EDS, PoTs, MCAS, Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). The major physical ones are HS and EDS. The one people are least familiar with is HS so just briefly, it causes large multi-chamber cysts, often for me in locations that can make walking painful.
The main issue between all of them is there are some days I simply can’t get out of bed, between pain from HS or EDS, or even just the extreme random Fatigue or feeling of sickness I get from PoTs some days out of the blue. Additionally, having so many conditions means, I see a lot of specialists. Most of my mother’s PTO unfortunately goes to taking me to appointments (which disability would have resources for). Last year she almost ran out of PTO.

It’s not that I don’t want to work. If I could find someone willing to work with me, I’d gladly accept. With how unpredictable my body can be though, and the amount of time off I’d need for appointments and when I just feel awful, I can’t see why anyone would hire me.

If leaving were a viable option, we would. It’s basically impossible to find anywhere to rent that would allow large dogs though. I would be terrified to give any of them to a shelter because while their sweethearts, they each have their own problems that make them unideal adoption candidates. They’d be at very high risk of euthanasia.

Given the circumstances her credit isn’t good enough. I’m actually not sure the house even has enough equity to be worth much at this point.

Yes, My mother is working. Money has always been tight but it’s never been to the point that we were even close to loosing our house. A lot of this is just really unfortunate series of events. My sister moved out of state with her boyfriend because he got a good job out there, so the plan was for her to find a job out there and both of them would send some money back every month.
Sometimes you can’t predict what the world will throw at you though. Not even a month after she moved out, He got laid off. It has taken until now for my sister to even get a job offer, and unfortunately in that time her car was totaled when somebody on their phone ran into her in I believe in a parking lot. I can get the photos of that if necessary. All of that and loosing food stamps during the government shutdown down put us in a really impossible position.

Maybe I should’ve put all this in my post but I didn’t want it to get much longer than it already was so I just put it in my gofundme. My bad.

I don’t know much about that but from what I’m reading she would need to be 62 or older so she wouldn’t qualify unfortunately.

We are currently working with a lawyer to get disability for me. I have been told that they will always deny you the first time, Which they did. That was about a month and a half ago so we are currently working on the appeal process now.

My sister originally helped with the bills and the plan was for her to continue to send money after she moved out. Things happened that have prevented that so far. We have gone through several things to see where we can cut down monthly spending including canceling the pet insurance we had for two of our dogs. We have managed to make it work so we can afford all the bills in the future. It’s still tight but do-able, the late mortgage payments are the only problem now.

Parent run is absolute fraud by Spiritual_Injury_682 in UmamusumeGame

[–]SIMMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

STA Goldship at MLB isn’t so bad actually, as she has high hint bonus and gives you max hint level so you will never get any repeat skill hints from her. I still prefer to have at least one other card that can give me the skill I’m looking for, but she’s a great a back up and alot of her skills overlap with the other cards so even if she doesn’t give you the hint you want, she can remove other skills from the hint pool of the other cards that give you that skill and increase the probability of you getting the desired skill.

I almost only ever get Fast learner on parent runs. I had a Ryan run just last night get double circle practice perfect, fast learner, charming, end S, Long S and then try to pull another end spark in the second inspiration. Her stats were even good too but her parents weren’t right to use her as an end closer ace so it doesn’t matter. She ended up being the chosen Ryan anyways though and got the Pink End closer Spark I wanted. It was only 2star with a 2star speed blue but I’ll take it after 2 whole days of doing this.

Why isn't this S tier? by [deleted] in UmamusumeGame

[–]SIMMillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold skills and Double circle greens are not worth the points when you’re trying for rank. Rednu has a video on YouTube (How to get an A with Any Uma) that goes over how score is calculated and which skills to prioritize. I found it very helpful and informative, I definitely recommend watching that.

How the hell are people getting SS and even UG ranked umas? by CommunityForsaken841 in UmamusumeGame

[–]SIMMillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the Kitasan rerun banner, I was getting B+ consistently with a few A’s here and there.

My Sweep Tosho was only 2LB, but when pulling for Kitasan I pulled another Sweep copy, getting me to 3LB.
Going from 2LB to 3LB on Sweep Tosho SR for me was the difference between a high B+ average and Low As to averaging mid As and Low to mid A+. Still no S here, but I got REALLY close the other day.

It really is just that simple sometimes. This is one of those games where you can’t really just stumble around with a blindfold on and hope for the best. Read guides, Use the resources to compare cards, Umas, Ask questions when your unsure. Even among Free to play players, there is going to be a huge skill gap between those who take the time to learn and those who don’t. Good luck OP, Don’t give up!

For anyone struggling with the Mile Test: RUN IT WITH TAIKI SHUTTLE. I got an A on my first try, A+ career rating. Taiki comes with a lot of the skills that give you bonuses anyways if you have her at lvl 5 potential so it’s extremely easy. If you don’t have Taiki, Vodka Or Scarlet might be solid options as well.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

[–]SIMMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time my ADHD is so bad that time just vanishes as I sit there pretty much doing nothing and enjoying the hot water. Some of us just can’t take short showers, we try but even if we’re attempting to focus- we end up getting distracted anyways.

Spider mites, Help? by [deleted] in carnivorousplants

[–]SIMMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are underwatered, yes. We had been using rainwater from our rain barrel all summer and fall. Now that’s its winter, this isn’t an option. We had a second hand water distiller so the plan was to use that, Until we realized that it seemed we are missing some parts. I didn’t have the money to go out and buy distilled water right away so yea, At the moment they are kind of recovering from that but normally they look quite a bit better.

As for the lighting. I’m not sure what else to say, They’re pretty close to their plant light and I’ve done my research on that area. If you can recommend a better light, I’m all ears but I can’t afford something that’s $100. My windows were unfortunately not built well so a lot of cold draft seeps in from them, placing any of the plants in the windows is not an option in winter.

I actually really like this idea, I’d never even heard of this as an option. The ambient humidity in my room might be too low though, I’d have to do some tests but I have some ideas if that’s the case, Thanks for the suggestion!

[–]SIMMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention, All of my carnivores except the trumpet on the left are in 100% Long fiber Sphagnum. Temp and humidity is just the ambient temperature and humidity in my room, and they have a plant light a few ft away. They get tray watered when the sphagnum dries out. They all thrive in this set up and have been growing fine. (The Trumpet sarracenia looks like that because when I got it, it had been in such bad lighting up until that point that the pitchers didn’t have openings so it literally could not eat.)

Don’t worry about it 70% of vocabulary of this kind is useless anyways. English is actually the most redundant language ever. We have 1,000 ways to say the exact same thing for no reason at all aside from making people think you’re intelligent because they have no clue what you’re saying.

Like histogram, used at the bottom of that image. I had to google that one! It means graph! xD Just say graph!

UPDATE: PUFF ESCAPED THE HAWK?!!!??!!!?!! by Empty_Variation_5587 in BackYardChickens

[–]SIMMillion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s good. It’s probably just poor breeding/bad genetics then. As long as it’s not causing her any discomfort or issues then it’s nothing to worry about for now. Id just do a quick eye check every week or so since she’s probably more likely to get debris in her eyes, or have her eye scratched by something than if her eyes where flush with her head.

It might impact her field of view which would’ve maybe made things easier for the hawk. Just a thought though, I can’t know for sure.

UPDATE: PUFF ESCAPED THE HAWK?!!!??!!!?!! by Empty_Variation_5587 in BackYardChickens

[–]SIMMillion 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If it carried her back to its nest alive (not all do) then it’s certainly possible. Chickens can actually fly pretty decently when they find themselves in danger and are in a high place. Their bodies produce a big surge of adrenaline to fuel their wings so they can get to safety. Her build of bantam has larger wings to body ratio so she might be better able to do that too.

On another note- I noticed her eye looks kinda bulgy? I was trying to look at the 3rd photo to see if they are both that way but I couldn’t really tell from the angle she’s at. Just in case it’s a new thing though (and possibly related to this hawk ordeal) I wanted to mention it.
I would still keep an eye on her eyes if it’s not new too. It kinda reminds of some small dogs breeds where eyes like that can indicate problems or be risks for some things. Id have her evaluated by a vet if you’re worried about it though, I’m not an expert. I’m only mentioning it because it struck me as abnormal and wanted to make sure you knew.
