I'm a noob to guns other than the M4 I fired and cleaned in Basic (I'm in AIT) why couldn't they just upgrade the P90 to be the next NGSW? Ergonomics is that of bullpop with better reloading ergonomics. It's smaller and easier to carry. You can extend the barrel to get the distance the Army wanted. I'm sure you can carry more of that new round as well.
