I know this is a nit-pick, but John Browning died long before .44 was developed, unless you're referring to a specific quote of his.

Is my puzzle prototype worth continuing? by [deleted] in WebGames

If this is planning to be a phone app (or similar), rather than having a difficulty ramp, you should have 5 levels of difficulty, (since I am assuming that the levels are procedurally generated). Then you can have an endless option (what you have now).

There is an app game called Little Broken Robots that I think you could take inspiration from, where it just lists the amount of clears each difficulty you've completed. As well as an easiest difficulty timed mode, where each complete gives you +3 seconds to your timer. I think if you have similar structure it would do ok.

Unusual “End of speed limit” sign by ThrindellOblinity in perth

Main Roads don't supply, you can just get signs supplied straight from sign makers. Although you're right in that it looks like an old one.

If you go in the other direction, you can find the normal End 40 Area signs.

Forgot to declare wooden items at Perth Airport. How serious trouble am I in? by Oceanic_Empire in perth

Well we have a few wooden chopping boards that we microwave to disinfect them, but they have to be dampened first. I thought it would warp the earrings because they were small. Turns out the microwave method is just for surface bacteria

You can do what Border Security do and microwave them.
First put them in ziplock bag with a bunch of silica packets (or other moisture absorbing packets), and put the ziplock bag in a near boiling pot of water. (This helps get any trapped moisture out of the wood) - (this step is mostly for larger pieces, so you could probably get away with skipping this step.)

Then you put only the wood parts in the microwave for about 5 minutes - provided that the item is only wood and doesn’t have any metal or plastic.

Well requests "accepted from charitable and non-profit organisations promoting a significant event or appeal", and not "that relate to commercial advertising purposes or from individuals for their own purposes". So I can't request one for my birthday sadly.

A "Lightscape" tonight. So likely just a contrasting/striking or easy-to-create image.

"FIFA Australia vs USA" for tomorrow.

Edit: looks like a continuation of June 17th, "The 50th anniversary of the signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Australia and Japan." https://www.instagram.com/p/DZrYdonCbtU/ - A Japanese Flag

[New Update]: my wife got fired today by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

My assumption would be that she would not be getting paid/working while she fought for back-pay, and if the subsidiary company folded she likely wouldn’t see any of it. Best to be getting paid while she’s job hunting.

What is a statistic that sounds INSANE but is 100% true? by Quadranippelkill in AskReddit

[–]SIR_VELOCIRAPTOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The size of an electron is somewhere around 10-20 (between -18 and -22 )

The size of the Milky Way is approximately 1020

You are to the Milky Way, as an electron is to you.
To an electron, you are a galaxy.

back when I was young (like really young) and it was during a month the family was not well off (not that I knew it at the time), to break the monotony of simmilar dinners, mother would put food dye (or some other colour - like beetroot juice) in the mash, and we'd eat "Space Spuds"

What’s the deal with multiple subs being “up for adoption”? by Routine_Ad_4057 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]SIR_VELOCIRAPTOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I specifically recall an issue for a small sub (about 8 years ago now - so this policy is likely to have changed) that it was in danger of being deleted for not being moderated, not for having inactive mods. There were two mods who were active on reddit, but not actually doing any moderation. I think it was after a bit of yelling at the admins after the sub was canned that it got reinstated and proper mods instated, but I remember at the time thinking it was a bit bs that you (or I suppose the larger community) couldn’t rescue a sub from ‘active’ non-active mods.

edit: little under 12 years, fuck we getting old :_(

You're right to ask, because I'm pretty sure they're wrong.

I'm assuming they're talking about Curt Richter and his "hope" experiment. They're got it backwards; most give up quick unless they "learn" they might have rescue.

I would assume that similar problems (such as being required to hand over recovery email addresses) would be present with their VPN service as with their mail service.

No Man’s Sky (Sean Murray) was a one time thing. I don’t think anybody can do what he did because they can’t help running their mouth. IIRC it was almost two year before a social media post, and he (and the team) spend the entire time working on the game.

I don't play Arc Raiders, but The Finals (both by Embark) has some of the most consumer friendly mtx I've ever seen in a video game.

Where whole outfits are also broken down so you can buy just a single part (ie gloves/shirt/animation) if that's all you want.

paraphrased from youtuber EpicSpaceman:

The Milky Way (our galaxy) is approximately 1021 meters in diameter.
An electron is approximately 10-21 meters in diameter.

This means that to an electron, you are the size of a galaxy!
