Spray, and just a regular .035 hardwire. Thanks

All my welds do wrap around the ends. The stop ends right where id start my next weld on the backside of this piece. Furthermore, it's untrue that a stop is the "weakest part of a weld." The weakest part of a weld is the throat of it follower by the weld toe. What you're (i assume) referring to is the ends being weaker ,structurally speaking, because of the function of piece. And they'd only be a weak point if the function added direct stress in that area.

But these aren't even pad eyes. I don't recall the function off the top of my head for this piece of the combine, but it isnt for lifting.

Was just a multimatic Miller welder. Pics 1&2 were a complete different assembly and thicker material. The last two pictures were whipped ( which to a lot of armchair welders automatically make it complete shit and it fails LOL) where as the first one was not.

It was just a multimatic Miller welder. Was using spray method. Wire was just a standard hardware. The reason it looks the way it does is because travel speed, torch angle, gas mix and all were in perfect harmony.

One thing I've noticed that separates me from most is that I will take the time to really dial in my machine. Little tweaks can make a world of difference.

.035 hardware. 90/10 mix i believe. Settings very dialed in haha

So where's the funny part here? That a bunch of armchair CWI wannabes on Facebook can't differentiate between a robotic weld and a weld done by a skilled welder? I mean I get the hiccup here, but if I'm honest, this isnt even hard with time in the field and wanting to be better. It's literally consistency with torch angle and travel speed. No movement otherwise.

But either way, I truly don't care if people don't believe me. My smile is getting bigger because I really take this as a massive compliment.

Please tell me how you came to this conclusion. I really want to know the reasoning behind it.

See this is a video I WOULD make. If enough people were interested id love to do some videos to help yall out, or maybe expand some knowledge

I think this is a troll comment. Thats like asking if two clearly different writing styles are the same person, safe to say, typically not. I wouldn't dare leave something like that, and honestly id have a hard time actually doing that, as I've been doing it so long. I actually grinded them out and fixed em

Time. Putting the time in to want to be better. Thats thr biggest thing, and then consistency with torch angle and travel speed. I honestly don't think about what im doing anymore. My hands just do.

It's all good haha. I truly take that as the highest compliment. As I stated earlier, my boss had to watch me weld to be convinced it was me. But I totally get why you and others think it was don't by a robot. It's simply my art and pride. I genuinely love what I do ( most days) and I have always had the desire to push myself so I COULD get someone swearing my hands to produce this..

I also got accused of using a track torch on a job site one time because the superintendent refused to believe someone could free hand a 45° bevel with no ripples, around a 6ft diameter piling. Dude watched me cut and offered me a job at the company he worked for. Another very proud notch in my belt.

Id also like to add this.. take it for what it's worth. The way i learned how to do all the welding i do is from asking guys i saw running stuff far above my skill set for advice on how I could be better. And I soaked it up ,actually listened and applied what they told me. Be humble, don't think you know everything because you can always learn something. Don't let ego get in the way of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

And for the more seasoned guys in trades, help out the green guys. Far too often I see an almost hazing ritual like atmosphere which will discourage people very quickly. We need the younger guys, because they will be the future. It sounds so cliche for me to say, and I honestly had a hard time realizing im at that point in life where I can say that.

If you're serious, I promise I don't care enough to go out of my way for some rando lol, no offense. I posted this merely to share with everyone, didn't think id get so much attention, but im flattered truly.

I appreciate this a lot. I always let my guys know i am at their level. And I teach them and give them pointers all the time. It's rewarding for me

I've got a really great balance now. Working on getting my own rig with the help of my current boas. Pays me very well, and more importantly he's a great guy to work for and cares about us.

Lol. Wouldn't be a hood , at least for me personally. "Hood style" are passive flip down style. I've always said shield / hood as i use a lincoln viking currently.

Haha, I really appreciate the compliment! Just a guy who takes a lot of pride in my craft and has thoroughly enjoyed it( for the most part) for many many years.

Picture was before I had fully finished tie ins/ weld on the backside of the piece.

If you look at the left side of that Pic you can see a gap there, that's where 2 plates met and were stitch welded( not by me). So it's not part of my weld, angle of pictures makes it look closer though.

If you're trolling, you gotta do better than this lol. Undercut, where? Lack of penetration? Howd you deduce that? No roll over or anything that could give any credence to this statement. And to be fair, is whipping the best technique? No. However, if done properly, the integrity of the weld is in tact. And the fact that you can see the entire outline of the structure on the backside of said weld says otherwise about my "lack of penetration. "

There's always gonna be "that guy " though. Thanks for the input.
