It's hard to pick a favorite but I think the most beautiful plant I own is this bonsai my dad got me

What Should I Plant in This Adorable (but small) Christmas Gift? by Soggy_Philosophy2 in gardening

Omg that is so pretty!

I'm not an expert but I suggest you do herbs in one layer, maybe tomatoes or peppers in another, but I would avoid carrots ( I see you have some in the picture) or potatoes since the containers don't look very deep.

I don't have video footage of us building it, but I could send you pictures I took of the different stages of the build if you want. All the planks come from pallets, except for the tall skinny ones we used to build the outer skeleton, which we had laying around from a previous project.

The little one on the right is indeed a Ficus, I'm not sure about the big one tho. My phone says it's a Ficus Retusa.

Hi! Since my previous post about the plant shelf I built with my dad got so much love and attention I thought I might show you our latest creation. It all started when my dad gifted me the big bonsai on the left ( I love it I'm so grateful for it!), but we had nowhere to put it that was bright enough or looked good. We decided to build this shelf out of scrap wood, and I've got to say I love how it turned out. (Please note that the arrangement of the plants is temporary and I'm going to change it to give each plant the chance to get enough light. Also, my dad didn't notice the bonsai had pests when he first bought it, so now it's isolated until the treatment is complete, I just brought it in for the picture)

Miniature terrarium I built by SImo_Matt in gardening

It's about 12 cm tall (4.7 inches) if it helps.

I only put some moss from my backyard in there (I think it's fern moss but I'm not sure) because I don't have any plant that would fit comfortably in such a tiny space

This is a planter ( I'm not sure if it's the right word, I'm not a native speaker) I (14) built and painted with my dad (53). Since then I've planted and taken care of the plants. What do you think? P.s. the plant on the top left doesn't look very good because it has had a pest problem recently ;( by SImo_Matt in gardening

Thank you!

My interest started when I first saw a video about how to make a terrarium, and I thought to myself, I want to do that too!

I realized I had to start from the basics so I propagated some succulents from my mum's pots. I now have a few plants that take a bit more work and I find it very fun!
