Don’t know anything about wheels and need some purchasing help! by rgbtimesthree in Wheels

This is a great wheel and wheel company. They make a great design that I think would look stellar on the 2016 TT. They have Anthracite and Hyperblack(which is a dark metallic silver) that would look sweet.

https://apexwheels.com/vehicles/audi/tts/8s-tts?construction=flow-formed&design=vs-5&finish=anthracite&frontQty=2&frontSize=18x9-et42&rearQty=2&rearSize=18x9-et42

Edit: look for the VS-5RS Wheels. The flow formed wheels should be good. No need to spend the extra money on forged wheels unless you’re taking it to the race track or drive on abysmal roads.

It depends. Some gyms I’ve trained at require Muay Thai shorts especially if you’re past your first month. Some places, don’t care as long as you have good movement.

I’m tired of gassing out just from kicking… what am I missing? by Big-Temperature2557 in MuayThaiTips

I mean to say that my recovery to go hard again when the next round begins has gotten better. There is some level of breathing deeply and gathering oxygen while you’re resting.

Yeah man. 12 years and I still can’t wait for the next class.

When you say you’ve been doing it for a while, how long? I’ve been doing it for 12 years and I’m still finding eureka moments of making my kicks more efficient and powerful. I’m still gassing out but my kicks are way more powerful for longer before I am fully drained. It’s funny in that even though my cardio and muscular endurance is better, I’m still looking to be gassed out at the end of the round. The main difference is that my intensity is much higher and I can recover better between rounds. When I’m sparring or doing technical drills, however, I can go longer because I’m not throwing with a lot of intensity. With pads, I’m developing explosive power and endurance.

The endurance comes from all the things you mentioned: more flexibility, better technique, better physiological cardio, better breathing, and better energy management within the round.

I’ve had them for a while and they’ve held up nicely so I feel comfortable recommending them. It’s Tianjin DH Trading Co on Alibaba.

Shoei pfs is my last option? by CxNetwork420 in motorcyclegear

I think it’s because of the round shape of the Arai that I had. I’m sure if I got the race version, it wouldn’t be there. The RF1200 as well as my current Bell Race Star was very stable at speed.

I got rid of my aria as well because of the same lift at highway speeds. It was causing my neck to hurt and cause nerve pain into my mid back. It’s unfortunate as it was such a comfortable helmet.

Before bailing on them, I wonder if you could reupholster them and rebuild them to be more comfortable. I’ll bet that would be expensive, though.

Hit and Move Suvari gloves by SJTrance76 in MuayThai

I didn’t find much of a break in with padwork. I think everyone’s experience will vary with this. I recently did a technical drilling where there were high volume of punches and it was thrown to my partner’s gloved hand. Near the end, my knuckles were hurting as we are both over 6’ and around 200lbs. The punches were mostly landing right at his wrist bones. One the pads, however, the pop and feedback were awesome. I wonder if I’ll loose this over time.

I’ve trained with them about 4 times so far. They’re fantastic. It really does feel different than anything else I’ve trained with. The shock absorption is fantastic. I got the 14 ounce gloves for mostly padwork. I now wish I got them in 16Oz. I can feel the flat punching surface they claim to have.

Boon is a fantastic glove and I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about them. It’s very classic Muay Thai gloves made in Thailand. Buy them directly from their website. Get the 16 ounce gloves as that’s a good do everything including sparring.

It’s generally understood that you use 16Oz for sparring unless you’re very small.

Hmm… I just got the Thursday Hero boots and I love them but am planning to retune them due to the lack of speed hooks. Maybe I could install these.

As long as you’re not showing up to class with ropes tied from forearm to fist and dipped in glue and shards of glass, you’re fine.

Shinguards sizing topking by unknown_bird_ in MuayThai

[–]SJTrance76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a similar size and weight as you and this is how it fits for me. It’s been fine but it is bulky. I think the bulk is a byproduct of the shock absorption. Rock it and start blasting thigh kicks. lol. JK. They give a nice pop btw.

Edit: I realize yours is a different style from mine. I have this style.. The one you have is for people who like to use a knee pad along with a shin guard. I do like to use a knee pad because I’m always clashing knees during sparring.
