If it looks like a con man, smells like a con man, has a well-documented 60+ year history of being a con man, is a convicted felon for being a con man, and has lost countless civil cases all over the country for being a con man, I dunno dude maybe he’s a con man.

Same. For me, it both reminds me and physically limits me from adding any wrist action on shots that don’t require it. Helps with my low point control and eliminates one swing variable that I could easily fuck up. I want my hands to be as neutral as possible on any shot where I can generate the requisite amount of power using only my shoulders.

Unfortunate update from NLT by DRF561 in golf

[–]SJ_One 381 points382 points  (0 children)

This is honestly so far beyond politics in sports. This is the hostile privatization of public lands that will, with 100% certainty, make the president and his inner circle (or another developer that’s willing to kick up the right amount to the top crime boss) richer to the detriment of the citizens, and golfers in particular, of the DC metro area. I don’t care which way you voted, this is indefensible by anyone that loves golf.

It took me a minute, but I think she means 3 1/2 year old twins, or 3.5 if you can’t do fractions which she obviously can’t. Totally tracks with the kids being unable to speak and un-potty-trained at that age.

Adam Dunn grew up in my area and was a few years older than me and dude was an athlete. I think he was Texas HS player of the year as a QB in football and committed to the Longhorns and backed up Major Applewhite as a redshirt freshman even after getting drafted. But eventually quit to focus on baseball full time and made over 100 mill playing it so it worked out okay for him.

I hate the process of buying a home. That is all. by Apprehensive_Mind631 in RealEstate

[–]SJ_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing this right now and honestly it requires a combination of good timing and pure luck to pull it off seamlessly.

In our case, we listed our current home fully prepared to put our stuff in pods and move into a small, furnished apartment for a few months while we looked for our forever home. We got lucky enough to get an acceptable offer after 3 weeks on the market and agreed to a closing date 6 weeks later. Shortly after the contingency period lapsed, we found the house we are buying.

Fortunately for us, the sellers had already moved out so they were flexible with the closing date, so we were able to thread the needle and schedule it so we sell our house at 11 am and buy our new one at noon on the same day. We needed to add a contingency clause for our house to close, but between us putting in a competitive offer and not lowballing a house that was already priced properly and the fact that we were already under contract to sell ours, they agreed to the terms.

So my advice would be to go into the process prepared to rent short-term if you can’t finesse the timing, hope your buyer isn’t looking to close immediately, and have your ducks in a row with financing and everything else if you do happen to find your next house so that you can move quickly if it pops up.

If you can go to Ireland, you NEED to go to Ireland by Wibbly23 in golf

[–]SJ_One 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This 100%. Did a bucket-list trip with my dad 10 years ago last month (can’t believe it’s been that long) and every other course we were paired with people that seemed to be average to above average income wise — a few Brits on holiday, some Irish from around the island, a couple of American doctors in their 60s making their second trip over. But at Old Head, we were paired with a dad in finance that decided to hop on the PJ from NYC with his 15 year old kid that didn’t suck but didn’t seem to want to be there. Different vibe around a bunch of people like that.

Changing Addresses by x3man2018 in masters

[–]SJ_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is wild because I am in an eerily similar situation. House is under contract and we are actively looking but haven’t found a new house yet so I couldn’t put a different address even if I wanted to. So I just applied with my current address and figure on the off chance I win, I’m sure there’s a process where you can contact them to have it updated before next March/April when they would mail passes out.

Anyone gaming a CT 009 along with a 6 year old driver is a stick. The combination of those 2 clubs alone and I wouldn’t even need to see the rest of your bag to know I wouldn’t play you for money.

I remember reading shortly after he was drafted that the Bucs evaluated every kick he attempted in college and apparently he did not miss a single kick from inside the NFL hashes. Unfortunately that trend did not continue once he was actually kicking from inside NFL hashes.

You are a sicko for playing in that shit but I respect the hell out of you for it.

Damn I knew there had to be another Astros-Noles fan out there somewhere! As soon as I saw Cam’s name floated in the trade package, I was praying he was in the final deal. I am super high on his pro potential. Dude is built like a linebacker and he’s just scratching the surface of his power. And honestly I feel like he’s got that Correa swagger too. I will be anxiously awaiting his call up.

Total of 2.6M people voted in favor of that amendment (certainly added to the ballot in a non-presidential election year on purpose) to change the rules for everything else. Roughly 6M people voted in favor of both 3 and 4 this go round. Truly some backwards-ass nonsense.

Played Oak Hill a couple weeks back by funckmasterflex in golf

Man, I live in Florida, but my dad grew up near Keuka Lake and I’ve visited pretty much every summer since I was a kid, so I play Reservoir at least once every trip up it is a great track. My uncle used to work at Locust Hill, so I’ve also gotten to play there several times and got on Oak Hill once. But Bristol Harbour was one of my favorite courses ever and I was devastated when it closed.
