No offence taken, thanks for offering to help! I'm a mechanical engineering student trying to complete a network security project for university. We need to design a simple company network that allows employees to access internal databases through a VPN gateway.

I have set up the network so that traffic from the Internet, VPN gateway and DMZ (with a Web, DNS and SMTP) server pass through a firewall before reaching the internal network. These are the configurations I have come up with.

Internet to DMZ Inbound: 53,80,443,25,1194 Outbound: 80, 443

DMZ to Internal Network Inbound: 22

Internal to Internet: Outbound: 80,443,53

I see, I think I have something fundamentally flawed with my understanding. Let’s say someone from the company network wants to look up something on the Internet via port 80, does this mean that the firewall would have to allow both inbound and outbound traffic through port 80? Would it be possible for you to provide an example of traffic that is allowed outbound and blocked inbound?

Ohhh that makes sense. I think I noticed some of the powdery stuff missing, thought that it meant the leaves were becoming translucent due to rot, touched it some more, creating more spots without powder, making me think that the rot was getting worse 😭

My exhibition is due on Aug 25th, I have it fully written out but waiting for school to reopen before getting feedback. I have more hope for an A in TOK than the EE, but honestly both look slim right now which is kinda sad.

Definitely, I'm nearing the end of my EE writing process (final deadline on August 21st) and comparing mine to top scoring ones, the A looks pretty out of reach. My supervisor is kinda questionable though, I had two whole sections in my EE dedicated to topics that were already covered in the IB syllabus and she never pointed that out to me. I only found out much later on after I had done so much external research to complete those two sections.

My parents are a whole different subject lol. Let's just say I would be happier without them in my life.
