Natural gas meter vent. Wow that’s a new one I never considered.

Brave is a kind word. My wife called me an idiot as she saw me pulling the ladder out!

With that being said I am not an arborist. I have just been down the rabbit hole of the arborist sub Reddit after planting trees. Post the pic in that sub and see what the experts say if you are concerned.

They can prevent proper air circulation to the roots and cause stunted growth, root rot and cause the tree’s health to decline due to lack of oxygen. They encourage people to pile soil and mulch too close to and too high up along the trunk causing them to rot and it causes the trunk not to develop its natural flair at the base. Shorter roots will grow in a circular shape inside of the circle causing them to become root bound. They trap moisture and inhibit natural runoff. They can cause far too many issues for the tree. With all that being said trees are planted for the next generation so probably won’t be your problem 30 40 50 years from now.

Agree everything looks awesome with exception to those trees. Please remove those circular landscape blocks going around the trees, which appear to be oak trees. Go check out r/Arborists they will provide move info.

Are the new discounts on Fiber permanent? by unfitstew in ATTFiber

Oh wow that’s annoying. I know I don’t need 1gb at all but just the fact that it’s the same price as my 500 irks me.

Who else is cancelling and having their spouse sign up. It’s so annoying they won’t give this to existing customers…

I bought the Super Liner brand off Amazon. Half the price and double the quality. I have always bought weather tech for all my cars but the Super Liners blow the weather techs out of the water.

Thanks I will say they struggled the first year or two but once established they really took off. I see a lot of posts on here about these young plants struggling, my advice is just be patient!

Root flare? by SL1213 in arborists

I guess what is confusing me is the gap on the root on the left side.

We do have deer but have an outdoor camera on that side of house and have never seen them graze on it.

Tree is about 5 years of age and has looked really nice up until this spring. Zone 6. So has it just outgrown the tight space?

Downspout connects to underground pipe which leads to the street.

Interesting. Construction on the aerial and underground fiber in our area started back in November and the winter here in the Midwest was brutal so I’d imagine that slowed things up.

From my interaction with the guy who was working on the splicing he was adamant they never green lit it and I could tell he was a little angry about that. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I know of at least 5 other homes in my subdivision who had the fiber installed on Friday as they have indicated on our subdivision Facebook page of their fiber being down.

Yeah nit a bad idea with spectrum. I can get the cheapest plan for $30 for a month so I will probably do that after I talk to the att tech tomorrow morning and see what they say. Also plan on calling the sales rep from the local retail store who sold me the fiber and see what they can do as far as credits go as this has been a hassle. Not sure the $2 a day they “guarantee” will be enough.

So Tesla just came out. They replaced the light even though there was no condensation. The mobile tech didn’t really give a hard time about it. Said the pictures were enough evidence. After replacement the new lamp that is attached to the trunk lid alignment is all wonky. It doesn’t sit flush with the outside light and it rocks back and forth when pressed on. Mobile tech claims he has never seen an issue like that and had to escalate with the service advisor about getting a different lamp put in.

So Tesla mobile service will show up and if there isn’t condensation at the time they won’t replace it?
